Blimey, this took a while to make!

So the voices behind Splatoon 2's Off the Hook released a music video recently. The song is called 'This Is How We Do'; you can view it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo5nBG… Effectively, this means we now have a real-life Off the Hook song! Fiction and reality are becoming one...

As for the picture, I decided to draw the two singers as their respective Splatoon characters! Both of them are roughly the same height IRL, which is a bit problematic, considering that Pearl is a lot shorter than Marina. So just imagine that Marina is crouching down or something!
In terms of challenge, I had a lot of trouble with this one: I wasted about 10 hours making different revisions, because I wasn't satisfied with the watercolour brushes I was using. I tried switching to pencil brushes and thought they looked a lot better. As I was shading the picture, Photoshop decided to lag for ages! Sometimes it would take a whole minute to undo a couple of brush strokes. But hey, it's finished now, and I'm pretty pleased with the results!

If anyone could share this picture with Off the Hook's voice actors, I would really appreciate that! They both use Twitter, but I don't have an account. If you do share this, make sure you give me credit! ^^

I've noticed that I finished the 2010s with a Splatoon picture, now I've started the 2020s with another Splatoon picture. I'm a fairly big fan, if you hadn't noticed. But I'm hoping to draw something different next time! The backlash regarding Byleth in Smash Bros. is pretty interesting, so that might be a good subject...

Here's a fun fact: so you know that Off the Hook consists of Pearl and Marina, right? Well, Pearl's VA is *Rina* Itou, whilst Marina's VA is Alice Peralta - you can make the word 'Pearl' from the letters in her surname! What a fun little coincidence.

Pearl and Marina belong to Nintendo, plz don't sue.
