Awesome rally machine.
A large V8 in a tiny light chassis.
Much like the 84 to 93 Ford Mustang police package.
5.0 liter V8 mounted on a light chassis.
Dangerous little car to the rookie driver with little or no skills.
I drove one.........or a we said “piloted” one.
Top speed on a closed course at 170mph.
Car was on the edge of going airborne flip due to no aero package......only a high angle banked curve kept the car on the track......no front grip.
I love rally competition so much I own two Subarus.
A WRX TR and a WRX STi....... both in Rally Pearl Blue.

I drove Mustang 5.0 year models 84, 87, 90, and 93.
The one that ran 170 was the 87 model.
Fuel injected 5 speed no limiter.
After that year model they installed a limiter slowing the car to 125.
The car had horrible aerodynamics.
No wing or splitter like the GT model.
Ours was the LX 2 door with a trunk.
Front disc and drum rear brakes.
They faded after a few hard braking leaving just downshifting to make turns and power sliding.
120 to 45 going from 4th gear to 2nd in one shift.
Rear end jumping off the ground!
