A hindu camel trader from
Rajasthan, India. This painting was inspired by a photo by my partner Gerard.
The trader is smoking a cigarette which was his price for Gerard to take his photo.

I can't add very much to previous comments, but this piece is picturesque indeed ! How you played with shadows and lights gives it some dramatic tension to a subject that would not necessarily be dramatic : a man posing and smoking, well imo

What a great critique.... thank you so much for taking the time to look and comment. Really glad you picked up on my play on light an shadow.... The image I used was dynamic but missed the light element. Knowing the light in India to be as orange as it is, I felt the need to portray it more in this painting. And the blue is a natural compliment to the orange.

The colour was manily down to how I see the light when reflected onto white cloth as shades blue or oranges....The rest was the typical light in India...varying shades or orange and yellow. x

Its a shame I did get to Rajasthan myself, although I have been to India 3 times now. Maybe in the future.
