This is my entry for 's Weekly Fanart Challenge. This week it's about Hayao Miyazaki's work. I love Spirited Away!! I had always wanted to draw Chihiro; this was a good oportunity to do so.

I absolutely love this. Spirited Away is my favorite Miyazaki movie and probably one of my all time favorites. Excellent work!

nice drawing with the illustrator

Well, it depends on what you want to do. Illustrator is great to get crisp, clean lines and, since it's based on vectors, you can resize freely without losing quality. Photoshop, on the other hand, is raster-based so you don't have that resizing freedom, but it's much more useful if you're trying to simulate the look of a more traditional hand-made picture. If you ahve a tablet, it's quite quick and easy to work with it.
I used to work combining both programs by making my lines and flat colors in Illustrator and then finishing shading and effects in Photoshop. Nowadays, however, I mostly only use photoshop, since I have a tablet and feel that making the lines in Illustrator takes up just too much time.
