She's one of the reasons I began reading the books - I haven't gotten to her scenes yet, but damnit, I can't wait till she appears.
Brienne is wonderful, and I seriously love how she interacts with Jaime in the series - I REALLY hope those two can develop a friendship, because as much as a dick Jaime is, I LOVE how these two stand together!

I've made it to her part but I couldn't tell you much of her and Jaime's interactions with out spoiling anything for you and I really haven't gotten far enough to say. And I know what you mean, they do look like they would be good comrades.

Some elements are, some aren't. As a whole I ADORE it - but most of the Starks (with the exception of Ned and Arya) disappoints me. But heck, I swear to God, the remaining cast is AMAZING! Tyrion is the grandest. Bronn out-acts EVERYONE! Brienne interacts so fantastically with Jaime. I mean... the cast is great, the story is good, and from what I've heard, series one follows the books pretty close.
Not to mention the graphic and sceneries are stunning.
I personally am such a hard core fan of the show; it was what made me start reading the books.

Wow. I'm really glad to hear that the acting is well done, I will definitely have to take a look at it then. But why are the Starks a disappointment? I thought them central characters and essential to the main plot line.

Well, with what I've read from the books, I really like them all, Snow is adorable, Bran has a lot of character, Robb is doing his best despite their ages and Sansa actually HAVE a spine...
I think the problem on the show is that they changed their ages, but not the dialogue, which means that Jon comes out as immature and whiny and ALWAYS 'oooh life is so cruel booh hooh', and Rob... I honestly straight-out dislike him. He's the most hypocritically, emotionally driven fool. I haven't gotten so far in the books, so I'm not sure how's he supposed to be once they enter the war, but on the show I next to no sympathy to the guy.
Catelyn is actually okay - She's fierce and she's got personality - I like her.
Oh and don't get me started on Sansa... In the books she seem feminine, lady-like but still with a proper backbone. On the show she cries all the time, she scared all the time (and I WILL grant her that given the circumstances she's in) but she does at times also comes out as straight-out stupid.
Sorry for the rambling. These are just one of the few issues I have with the show - the rest is honestly spotless, IMO.

Oh, oh dear. Yeah, I can picture all of the above. That's a shame since I really do like Robb in the books. He doesn't stand out too much but you can still sympathize.
