Description One of my favourite characters from Game Of Thrones.
She's just really sweet, vulnerable and honest... Her sense of loyalty is very inspiring, and Brienne of Tarth is one of the genuinely admirable characters in the series/books.

AND PLEASE.... No BOOK-SPOILERS! I've just started reading the books, and I really don't want anything spoilt. I am up to date with the series, but just... No book-spoilers.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

See, the dilemma is that I have read the books but not watched the series beyond season one. So I have absolutely no idea exactly what you know about her and her story - which means I can't really tell you what I like about this drawing, because much of it is tied into her personality and her description in the books.

I suppose "Great work" will have to do

Well, I can now inform you that I have read book 1-4 and OH my heart... If ever there was a fictional character I loved more...
Which just means I'll have to make MORE fanart of her, especially... Because Brienne is just... God I want to read about her forever

Damnit.... Watch the remaining seasons woman!
I think book two and half of book three are supposed to be covered in the second and the third season, but of course I don't much more about that, and I've only gotten to the second book, and currently, with all the work down here, it's going to be a while before I finish it of

But thanks... Many many thanks anyway

Actually, for once I only used the texture on the blue background - everything else is handdrawn and coloured in Psp
But thanks a mill.

She's one f my favorites as well! That being said, I absolutely love how you caught on to her earnest vulnerability. I think people forget that about her quite often, since she's described as hulking and man-ish, her personality really isn't, however much she wished that weren't so. I've done an artwork of her, but I didn't capture her inner spirit as well as you haveI'm afraid wonderful border design also!

Thanks you so much - what a fantastic comment to receive. Brienne is absolutely fantastic; I love how... much of a misfit she is, but how she STILL stand by who she is. I really get the vibe that all she ever wanted is to fit and and be respected. And it is so sad to see how few people who'd accept her - which is why I ADORE the people who has earned her respect. Brienne is simply wonderful, and such a unique character.

Thank you so much for the kind words on this piece; it's my first try on her, so I'm glad she's recognisable

You're so very welcome! And what a fantastic response, I completely agree with you on Brienne. She refuses to let go of her own sense of honor and her moral compass, despite opposition from (it seems) everyone. I think the reason that she's such a dynamic and dimensional character is because we expect her to act in a certain way, based on her written description, then she has these thoughts and feelings that we least expect she'd have. Or, at least, I did.
But that's what I get for making assumptions And for your first try you definitely did her justice, it's quite refreshing to see some art of her not fighting or scowling at Jaime, but the girl who desires to be respected.

She's one of the reasons I began reading the books - I haven't gotten to her scenes yet, but damnit, I can't wait till she appears.
Brienne is wonderful, and I seriously love how she interacts with Jaime in the series - I REALLY hope those two can develop a friendship, because as much as a dick Jaime is, I LOVE how these two stand together!

I've made it to her part but I couldn't tell you much of her and Jaime's interactions with out spoiling anything for you and I really haven't gotten far enough to say. And I know what you mean, they do look like they would be good comrades.

I'm only up to date with the series, and I was sad that there wasn't more of them in the recent one. Although I do treasure every second Jaime and Brienne is on the screen.
and they absolutely would! They MUST... if they don't become proper comrades I would be devastated

Oh, I haven't watched the show, is it very good?

Some elements are, some aren't. As a whole I ADORE it - but most of the Starks (with the exception of Ned and Arya) disappoints me. But heck, I swear to God, the remaining cast is AMAZING! Tyrion is the grandest. Bronn out-acts EVERYONE! Brienne interacts so fantastically with Jaime. I mean... the cast is great, the story is good, and from what I've heard, series one follows the books pretty close.
Not to mention the graphic and sceneries are stunning.
I personally am such a hard core fan of the show; it was what made me start reading the books.

Wow. I'm really glad to hear that the acting is well done, I will definitely have to take a look at it then. But why are the Starks a disappointment? I thought them central characters and essential to the main plot line.

Well, with what I've read from the books, I really like them all, Snow is adorable, Bran has a lot of character, Robb is doing his best despite their ages and Sansa actually HAVE a spine...

I think the problem on the show is that they changed their ages, but not the dialogue, which means that Jon comes out as immature and whiny and ALWAYS 'oooh life is so cruel booh hooh', and Rob... I honestly straight-out dislike him. He's the most hypocritically, emotionally driven fool. I haven't gotten so far in the books, so I'm not sure how's he supposed to be once they enter the war, but on the show I next to no sympathy to the guy.

Catelyn is actually okay - She's fierce and she's got personality - I like her.

Oh and don't get me started on Sansa... In the books she seem feminine, lady-like but still with a proper backbone. On the show she cries all the time, she scared all the time (and I WILL grant her that given the circumstances she's in) but she does at times also comes out as straight-out stupid.

Sorry for the rambling. These are just one of the few issues I have with the show - the rest is honestly spotless, IMO.

Oh, oh dear. Yeah, I can picture all of the above. That's a shame since I really do like Robb in the books. He doesn't stand out too much but you can still sympathize.
