Black is the fear unseen,
Misunderstood and never reached

Dark and cold is the feeling that writhes
Up your spine, pain and stings

Black is the inability to see even in the highest places
Can't hear your heartbeat, inaudible, monotone, voices
Where comes the deafness?

Unsightly is the quiet of the presence of the mysterious, it latches on
Skin as it sucks yours delirious. The pressure, compression, dizziness
The unconscious slips in as the blackness fades in
I hear no one as the ear sings atop of nowhere in bleakness it rings

Black is the lack of knowledge of anybody even you know.
I see my brother, my father, my sister but who is my mother who knows our father
but doesn't know their brother who has a sister that has no father,
who really is his mother, but he doesn't know, neither do they bother.

Black is out of breath, as legs hit the ground,
one foot in front of another as the view stays the same, immovable, mundane,
can't finish is progress, Who then really attains?

Black is the hearing of the word time but being unable to decipher.
Black is death and sadness. A master of disguise whose true identity is life and happiness.
Black is omnipotent, the absorption of all colors.

Black transcends the metaphysical, physical, what makes me not see which makes me stumble,
which causes me grief, whom not even joy can breathe, because Black is the end of mirth but beginning of turmoil.
Iron curtains, searing tears, barbed wire, incarcerates hearts,
as I fade back to black, I smile and frown as I gaze in a maze, confuse as to whether I am Black or Brown.
