Description
The alley is ungenerously named after Andrea Michele dall'Armi (1765-1842). In 1784 he moved from the Episcopal Principality of Trento to Munich, where he worked as a banker and spice merchant. His life was intense and full of satisfaction. He was also a member of the city council and was entrusted with organising the wedding celebrations for Crown Prince Ludwig. The event was a huge success and 40,000 people attended, so much so that the king made it an annual event: the Oktoberfest was born. Nowadays monarchs get married on television, so they no longer have to invite us for a beer... What bad luck!
