Description
I said that you wouldn't see this one for a while beacause it was going to be part of a group of portraits, but I worked more on it than I thought I was going to and consequently I think it's good enough to be a stand-alone.
Meet Verin, demon (yes, I know, all my characters are bloody demons) - he's the kind of guy who would find it perfectly easy to get someone into or out of jail, among other suspicious tasks, for a price. He's also a brilliant climber.
Sucky fighter though. He's useless when cornered.
Digital painting done in about three days, not sure how many hours that implies though. Lately I've been using a much simpler style of painting but this portrait goes back to my detail-obsessed ways. I love detail!

wow, amazing. i love veins on his body and texture of clothes. To tell the truth, i dont really like his right eye, looks shapeless and ill, maybe it should be like this, its a demon, well 
and the best. its cool couse he isnt beutiful, pretty, typical cold badass, he has something interesting and ugly (in a good artistic way) in his appearance.

I read somewhere that Verin was teh name of the demon of... Argh, it was either impatience or laziness. Where did you get the name? Just curious

So pretty! But I must say... what I like the most is the textures in his face and in the clothes! How do you make them?

By using a really big canvas and a really small brush! Some of the rough-textured brushes in Photoshop are quite nice but I think they look weird if you use them for anything other than a small area.
I tend to always use a very low opacity for details even if it means working on one area for a long time - see the veins? I think I must have used a brush of about 10% opacity and 10% flow for those.

I might do a tutorial for skin and so on at some point.
