Description
In a lot of cultures, there isn't a fine division between the Living and the Dead like we (like to) have over here in the West. Especially in places like the Far East, even the Dead still have a place in the scheme of things and there are festivals and the likes to celebrate the rememberance of those who have "passed on".

One of the duties of a Japanese shrine maiden (commomly known as a Miko) is to dance at festivals to celebrate with or pacify the Spirits, Kami's or even in some cases the Dead. These traditional dances are fascinating in their own right, but for those of us not steeped in the culture, a lot of the finer points would be missed. Putting it bluntley, they will probably put us to sleep ...

So, for the purposes of this video, we've updated both the music and the dance in an MMD attempt to pacify any "restless spirits" that might be lurking in the dark recesses of the Internet.

Note: ~GM34 mentioned in a conversation about the possibilty of attaining Pixar Studio like qualities using MMD/MME tools. Well, part of the purpose behind making this video was to try and see if in fact this could be done. Besides, its hard to resist doing something like this when you have such beautiful models to work with and a wonderful evocative tune.
