Description Wasn't happy with my original drawing for the ERS guide of this character. So had a spare few hours this afternoon and decided to redo him. I'm rather pleased with the result, the lineart is quite clean, but wasn't too boring to do. So I think I've found a good compromise between sketching and cleanliness. The base sketch was a lot better too as I made sure I didn't spend too much time on it. Overall I think it's a big improvement on the original and means that I've got this character into my style as well.

what a brilliant piece of art! was this inspired from the class 28 in lancashire? it is preserved on the east lacashire railway and they frequently used to put thomas faces onto the loco.

or was the loco in the books?

I noticed something else, his face is on his rear because he has his face where his co wheels are.
But according to TTTE wiki, he has 2 faces in the RWS and I just find that weird, he's like the CFR engines now...

To be perfectly honest, the face is at this end because it was the end shown in the source picture I used, I never once thought about checking which bogey end BoCo's face was at. Which going by RWS illustrations is the opposite end, but it doesn't really matter. It's a simple mistake and one that would be hard to fix. The face size is due to the fact that I wanted the proper BR Green warning panel size, the full front one never sat with me very well. It was one of my personal dislikes on my original. In the RWS BoCo did originally have the warning panel this size, just his face was split between the green and yellow, this did not seem right to me, so I shrunk the face to fit the panel, looks alright in my opinion to be honest. It's just my interpretation I guess.

And regards to the two faces thing, I'm fairly certain BoCo only has one face, like all other standard diesels, do not believe everything you read on the wiki...

I liked the older one better where his face was bigger.
This looks more like D5705/CoBo in my opinion.

Looks brilliant. Lovely detailing. You've got all the little bits of gear on there.

Wasn't Boco's face on the Co-end though? Doesn't matter to be honest, just a feeling I've got.
