Personally I think you should go back to this piece and just add a few small details, some smoke coming off the barrel specifically, I think that in particular would perfect it.

Put Doomguy in Halo, watch him do damage without Cortana's help or pointless nagging, which does sometimes help, hell, Master Chief ain't got shit on Doomguy, sure he's killed an army of Protoss (Starcraft) wannabes, but Doomguy, he survived much worse, Doomguy LITERALLY went to hell, killed every demon in hell, and came back alive, that is Badass, truly hardcore!!
