Description Some species are naturally more aggressive than others. These are often more xenophobic as well. Though the universe is now ruled by great Ultrasapients, most of whom encourage positive relations between many species, there are those species whose Ultras even prefer to dominate their spaces alone and indifferent towards other sophont life. These are some of the most widespread and well known…

(Top Left) Ith: The Iths are a race of large, tetralateral carnivores originally from a metal-rich world called Dath. They are slow moving, and used highly sophisticated long-range communication between each other to set traps for prey and to control and domesticate other, faster moving predators. Iths speak through high frequency microwaves which translate well in the thick atmosphere of Dath. These transmissions are produced and received with a fleshy, bell-like dome at the top of their bodies. An adult Ith can stand six meters tall from bell to toe. The body is covered in metallic shard-like growths which serve as protection and insulation. These shards are also highly sensitive to electrical and magnetic fields. Silicate eyes on stalks randomly dot the main body and are only vaguely sensitive to infrared light. Four pillar-like legs support the body and alternate with four muscular proboscises. The central mouth is beneath the body. Iths are hermaphrodites who can reproduce both by sexual reproduction and parthenogenesis. Ith society is typically structured around central authority figures that are obeyed with draconian rigidity. The deeply ingrained mindset to control is carried on by most Ith Ultras. Within their sphere of influence, spanning a few galaxy clusters, they are at best intolerant, and at worst hostile towards other sophonts. They value most heavy metals as spices in their food, artistic sculpture, and very strong war machines. Several cultures, including the Thos, have been at total war with different Ith factions for 19 million years now to keep them in line.

(Top Right) Thos: Thos are from a high gravity moon of water ice and ammonia seas. Their home world was called Leistheninad. They are meter-long, slug-like beings who lived in underground colonies, and are still highly agoraphobic to this day. The Thos move on three wheel-like appendages along their ventral surfaces. Two mouths are located on each lip-like jaw, which parts to reveal the first wheel used to grind through soil. Twin breathing orifices can be seen at the rear of their bodies. Thos are covered in hundreds of tiny, stiff bristles which they use to finely manipulate their technology. Seventeen million years ago, the Thos’ home, Leistheninad, was destroyed by a particularly violent faction of Iths. Being used to living within true ground, Thos naturally greatly prefer terraformation of the worlds they conquer. Traveling in asteroid ships and wearing heavily armored environment suits, Thos cultures would quickly terraform any world they can. They do so while remaining loyal and faithful to their kings and queens, which are often Ultras nowadays. Because of this, most Thos are very strict in relations with other species, but can manage to work with them. To prove their loyalty, Thos armies regularly do battle with those who can put up a fight.

(Bottom Left) Zock: The Zocks are, without a doubt, the most paranoid and destructive race in the universe. Almost nothing is known about their original biological bodies, as they are always seen as colossal, conical machine bodies. These bodies typically average at 50 meters from top to bottom and move by psychokinetic power. Slightly above the middle, a thick girdle surrounds the body, possessing six large spheres on stalks. These spheres act as sensors and energy replicators. All surfaces of the Zock’s body are frictionless and composed of alternating sheets of neutronium. It has been discovered that within the armor is a space-time bended area forming a large space inside a Zock. And within this space is another space, and another, and another, in a sort of ripple-like patterns, each becoming more compressed and fortified. It is speculated that the Zock’s consciousness, and/or body may dwell within the deepest space. These interlocking dimensions within the Zock shell are organized to support, resist, and strengthen each other in such a way as to make Zocks virtually physically impossible to be destroyed. Zocks are the most insanely pantophobic race in the entire universe. They are completely terrified of absolutely anything with any risk factor. It is clear that they were not always this extreme, but they view themselves as “enlightened” beings that follow the Great Safety Codes of Zaubacraun. It is unknown who exactly Zaubacraun is, but it may be an Ultra ascended from an intensive safety network. When a Zock encounters a potentially harmful item, such as a few dust particles, it will go into a hysteric fit of self- protection, repeatedly declaring the item as “unsafe” and proceeding to “compatibly functionalize” the item, reducing it to subatomic nothingness. The Zocks have compatibly functionalized their entire native galaxy, the Haven Galaxy, but seem too afraid to go any further. Most seem content to believe that they are I their heaven, so all is right. Other, rare specimens wish to compatibly functionalize more territory to reduce the threat of the universe. These suicidal individuals have been stopped whenever powerful Ultras enter their minds and literally scare them to death. The content Zocks appear to have many unique aspects of great philosophy, which would be greatly appreciated, if they weren’t so omniphobic.

(Bottom Right) Gerbak: Gerbaks are an egotistic and proud race, most of whom are sure of Gerbak supremacy. They would rather have nothing to do with other races than make any war with them. While many Gerbak cultures are isolationist, a few are highly warlike, and a growing number of factions are becoming more tolerant and open to other species other the years. Their race evolved on the plant Kronon, a chlorine world with a thick atmosphere and a highly radioactive surface. Their large heads are supported by a ladder-like vertebral column. Their bodies are two meters tall and they possess many sets of ring-shaped lungs and hearts. Their bodies end in four long tentacles. The head contains a highly complex dual-hemisphere brain. The entire surface of the head is very sensitive to electromagnetic waves and particles. Their mouths are large and broad for swallowing fruits, eggs, and various sessile or slow-moving animals whole. They have very large resonating chambers within the skull and large and complex vocal cords which they use to make very loud speech. Competitive and group singing is highly refined and traditional in many Gerbak cultures. What makes the Gerbak race unique is that they evolved on the border of a part of the universe where the Weak Force is more influential. This brought them in close and frequent contact with naturally evolved nuclear kaiju specimens that developed in the Weak Force section. Gerbak have proudly associated themselves with the natural kaiju cultures throughout many zones of Weak Nuclear Force. They act as ambassadors, soldiers, entertainers, and general associates of the kaiju, and in return the kaiju provide them with energy, protection, and may even turn some individuals into kaiju themselves. Although many Gerbaks are beginning to become more tolerant of other species, most still hold themselves high over all beside their kaiju brethren.

The Ith kinda looks a lot like Christmas trees.

Kaiju is a Japanese word that basically means "strange beast" or "monster."  One of the defining aspects of a proper kaiju is enormous size.  There have been many kaiju movies made in both the past and in recent years.  There are varying theories among geeks and "kaiju groupies" like myself as to how exactly a kaiju might actually work.  One theory that I found most convincing was an article that described kaiju as creatures that utilize nuclear energy instead of normal chemical energy that we use.  As of now, there's one kaiju design I've got here on DA called R.A.D.I., but I've got many others on my mind.

I like the Ith, when a single design reminds me of several different things simultaneously (in this case: a christmas tree, penis and a Lovecraft-monster) then you know that you got something very creative.

But I find the Thos and the Zocks the most interesting.
The Thos are so CUTE! Would they like it if I called them that or would they just be insulted? I wonder how long it took for them to build a technological civilisation with nothing but short hair for "fingers".
And I love the Zock revamp, it is epic. The only thing that could top that would be something like sentient pocket-universes with mobile worm-holes for mouths or shapeshifting crystals that play with alien geometries in the same way a digital artist plays with CGI. Hmmm, besides philosophizing or planning omnicide I wonder what Zock cultures do in their home galaxy which I guess is nothing but a void of subatomic particles.
It would be awesome to see the Thos and the Zocks have "Detail"-papers like the ones you gave to the Shaan and the Dk'dk, I would like to see more of Thos and Zock biology and cultures.

I like the Gerbak too, he looks funny. He look like a crossbreed between Kang & Kodos and the villain from "Monsters vs Aliens".

(Bangs on desk) Daggnabbit! It would seem I subconsciously made all the "bad guys" look like penises! WTF! (laughs) Oh well, it is kinda funny in that sense.

And I must say, that's the first time anyone's refered to the Thos as cute. They certainly aren't cute when they decide to invade more planets, especially planets whose populance sees them as "cute." How long it took them to build things with just short hairs? That'd be another good way to get on their bad side.

Nice that yo like the Zocks. I have plans for them to play a big part in my iUniverse continuom. And of course, I see you've still got that brilliant imagination as ever. Those would be cool! Who knows what those paranoid freaks do in their "Safe Haven." Someone should keep an eye on them...

Yeah, I wanted them to have the feel of some classical, tentacled space villain. And they have natural kaiju on their side! Not good to piss them off.

I am sorry if I annoyed you by saying that, but I can at least comfort you with that they look less phallic compared to other freaks.

So they technically don´t like to be called cute. I can even imagine that they would start wars just because of that others might view them as small, weak, ugly-cute "bugs". These guys, with their ugly-cute worm-bodies and funny-looking armor suits, reminds me of the K´tang from Star Control 3. They are similar to your Thos (or maybe more like the Zocks) but much more stupider and pathetic .

Well, those two ideas weren´t my own original ideas, these two beings appears in the NGE franchise. The "mobile wormhole" is Leliel from the original NGE show (more specifically episode 16), the "shapeshifting crystal" is the Rebuild revamp of Ramiel from "Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone". Here, look at this ! That´s just one of many cool things that monster can do.

But then after all, I have my own original ideas of freakish aliens and monsters: steam-filled furry amoebas, a "celestiophage" based on assimilative exotic "strange matter", cosmozoic "rorschachs", huge squids composed of "densely compacted electromagnetic fields" that communicate through lightening discharges that are powerful enough to melt the metal hulls of weaker space ships, "neuro-electric" parasites that are vectors of "memecologies",superfluid ice-shrimps and HUGE helices of light.
I need your science talents for a few (could be four or five) of them, but before we discuss more about that I wanna fix one drawing for you before I ask any requests. Is that okay with you?

Yeah, those Gerbaks really looks like something that could appear in a kids comic/cartoon or an old sci-fi book cover.

Nah, it's ok. (smile)

Indeed! I guess it's really even more problematic for them since thier new model suits look like computer mouses. Dag-blastit, the K'tang are hilarious! "We will Crushify you!".... If you say so...

HOLY BLINKING SHOOT!!! Them "Angels" of NGE really are badass. I'm definently going to take closer looks at it.

Man you do have an awesome imagination after all. Oh that's perfectly acceptable,in fact I can see it right now as I am typing this. Looks Great!

Yep, that's what I was going for.

Interesting races . the Ith are truly amazing and even more its biology that makes it seem artificial. The Thos are strange, intriguing and ... a little ... Well, like our sexual organs xD. a question, when they fight, how fast are they? the Zock remind me archalects of the orion arm project, but more violent, and unwilling to protect other species. what if any damage ultrasapient achieved? explodes or implodes? the Gerbak, is the most original.

Transapient In reply to Dragonthunders [2013-03-02 00:51:58 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Yes, they may look like Christmas trees, but they are ruthless and deadly fighters!
Dangit! I didn't intend them to look... like that, but there's no changing that now (sigh). When they are in their suits, they can move very fast, depending on the model type.
The Zocks are not so much violent, as unwilling to take any risks, and opposing these with extreme fear. When they are killed by an Ultra, there is sometimes a danger of massive energy/spacetime sockwave released if something goes wrong. But Zocks design their bodies to be indestructable, so usually nothing happens as their consciencness simply, leaves. they body usually implodes without incedent.
Thanks, I had fun designing them.
