Description My first attempt at carving pounamu or NZ greenstone. I really have no idea what I'm doing. Any tips would be great! I've been working on it with a dremel (cone diamond point) and a small diamond file. I have more files coming in the mail.

I am planning on have a hei matua or fish hook design raised up off the back, keeping the overall shape of the stone. Sort of a bas-relief pendant.

I am so excited about this. I've made jewelry the past six years but that's been almost exclusively in silver wire. I love greenstone and am loving branching out in my skills.

Hi Erin!!!
First, thanks for the favs!!!
A suggestion is to recommend you to work with files and drills in a soup plate full of clear water to cool your stones and tools, and as the water gets muddy 'cause of the dust, change it for clear new one
