Description
Felt pen lineart on A3 paper, coloured with a mouse on Paint Shop Pro. Around 14 hours. Completed December last 08.Well the lineart is bigger than I normally draw it, and the colouring style is different to my usual approach, so this picture was challenging in many regards. Credit goes to ~xennavor for designing the disc in the background for me. It's wicked sick.
And yes, the chains were difficult to draw. If I may say, I like the weapon designs but.
Done in celebration of the forum's 2nd year anniversary! As I said last year, I'm very glad that people are taking an interest in the world of Riiga. Anybody is free to join Riiga. We are very flexible with time (some members post once every few months) and you do not need any previous role-playing experience. We want you to have fun and be creative, not invent masterpieces of philosophical literature!

Absolutely gorgeous! The whole design is amazing. My eye was automatically drawn to every little detail in the weaponry and to the grungy, realistic look of the chains. The shading is beautiful too. Soft (such as his skin and hair) and vibrant (the gold, weaponry) in the right places. Very nice.

The contrast between the gold 'amulet' on his back and the rest is too great. As in, the amulet seems almost animated and the rest is too soft. Then again, it can also be seen as a really nice effect. The details on this are absolutely stunning, though. Well done!

Ok, so I will say more.
The chains and weapons are what I notice most of all.
The texture on the chains is a great detail, it gives them a look that I could best describe as being a cross between wrought iron and flaking gold.
The effect on the gold parts of the weapons is similar, but different. More of a patina, like you get with age.
Over all, what struck me the most about the piece was that when I looked at the preview I could have sworn it was a 3D render. That's probably due to the plain grey background which is a common way to show off a character.

I'm seeing a strong connection between people complaining about having nothing left to say because I discourage criticism and people who either seem incapable of expressing appreciation/gratitude towards life issues and/or don't see the point in expressing such things. Very creative sword and character design. Feels like a mix of Aztec, Egyptian, and Norse culture. But I guess that's the best way to create a whole new apparel concept; mesh a bunch of different culture together and see what comes out.
