Description This was one of my first water fall shots. As I am sure with any nature photographer, the first real sence of accomplishment is when you can mimic the pro's. The flowing water effect is one those, it feels great to see the final shot where you had the apature and shutter hand in hand to get the feeling of movement. Now, a little secret to confess on this one, yes it was winter time, and yes this is a water fall, but the title "Frozen Falls" really has nothing to do with that. It has to do with me slipping on some ice, landing in some water, and a frozen walk back to my car. Gotta love the outdoors!

The contrast between the rough and smooth make it seem really abstract. You're also right about mimicking the pros - I saw this and thought 'holy shit he must be professional' and it's a lesson to us all - that anyone can do something like this really well, whether they're earning money doing it or not.

And I hope your back doesn't hurt too much from the fall either.

Thank you very much for your great comments. When i first started to work with the digital medium, i did alot of abstract art, walpapers, Bryce 3D, and so on. I guess that love and respect for abstract art has been a large influence on my photography. Thanks again for your great comment and insight, and my back, good to go now, thanks.

Definitely worth the fall, a brilliant shot
I find that my favourite photographs are the ones that made me physically exhausted by the time I've gotten home
