Description

How One is Summoned: Similar to the Imp, there really isn’t any reason to summon a Z-eeker and we haven’t found any proof of someone trying to summon one on purpose. Basically, as far as we can tell, Z-eekers are usually summoned by accident as a byproduct of a much stronger demon being summoned.

Appearance: Z-eekers resemble a floating bull skull that is forever on fire. Z-eekers lack a physical body and this allows them to pass through walls if they so choose, though this is rare. Like many demons that lack a body, Z-eekers will possess a person in order to carry out its grotesque bidding, and the possessed is hereby referred to as a Rage Z (look at the “Undead” guide). When a Z-eeker possesses a person, all their bodily functions cease and the body will begin undergoing decomposition if the demon isn’t removed.

NOTE: Despite appearing to be on fire, Z-eekers surprisingly don’t give off any heat.

What They do: Unlike Imps who have some small smidge of intelligence, Z-eekers are completely animalistic and go off instinct alone and we have yet to see any follow orders. Z-eekers are driven by an endless hunger for flesh, they are especially a fan of human ribeye. They will possess a human and will attack any and all living things with a heartbeat and devour their flesh. They are also one of the few known demon types that can possess dead bodies that have already started to decay. Z-eekers will not possess dead bodies that have a badly damaged stomach or intestines, which is odd since they are known to continue using their host long after all the internal organs (including stomach and intestines) have fully decayed and they usually don’t leave until the joints start to decay.

Weaknesses: Z-eekers have all the typical weaknesses that most demons are known to have. Those weaknesses are: They can’t pass over a salt or iron trail, salt and iron burn them on contact, holy water, holy oil, and holy objects will burn them as well, and they can’t walk or fly onto holy ground without incinerating themselves. Z-eekers can also be snared in a low-level demon trap.

NOTE: All these weaknesses apply to the Z-eeker regardless of it is possessing a host or not.

How to Destroy One: Destroying a Z-eeker is very simple, just wait for it to possess a person and then shoot it in the head, not the heart, lungs, or liver, it must be the head otherwise the Z-eeker will jump to another host. Now shooting a possessed person in the head will definitely kill the Z-eeker, but at the cost of the host’s life. A simple low-level exorcism will remove a Z-eeker from its host but it is rare to even get the opportunity to perform an exorcism since it is rare for Z-eekers to travel alone.

NOTE: Even if the possessed person’s body has already started to decay, as long as the organs like the heart, lungs, stomach, and majority of the intestines are still intact then the person could still potentially be saved with organ and skin transplants.
