Description Kinda got inspired by the Battlefield 3 CQ wallpapers/posters as you may see.
Made from stock images from Shutterstock.com and stuff I created myself. I also used some of the light streaks from the original BF3 wallpapers as a template, so creds to them there.

You can pick it up as a high res walllpaper (2560x1600) at Wallbase: [link]

You're welcome man, your work served as real inspiration for me. Made me open photoshop again after a month, so I'm grateful haha.
Also the stalingrad manipulation is wonderful too!

Love it. Battlefield's classic red streaks of light fit right at home in the city high-rises. Nice job!

how did you do the light beams, trying to achieve a similar effect but can't seem to put my finger on it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tri5tate In reply to MaTaX91 [2013-09-25 15:39:19 +0000 UTC]

I would go by trying to paint in overlay mode. Then try enchanching the effect with painting on it again in maybe color burn mode to get that yellow inside the red. It's a step by step process and everytime you do it you get a unique result, but to paint it I think a Wacom tablet is pretty essential.
You could also try photographing light sources which are out of focus. Set the camera to a slow shutter speed and then move it and you take the picture to get a long light beam. Then enhance the effect in photoshop by adding contrast and color.Β Hope this helped you.

Tri5tate In reply to Mose4 [2013-07-02 19:20:40 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, but the aspect ratio of this image would not really allow a good crop to a 1280x1024 comp. I would say use the 1440x900 version and just scale it, or buy a widescreen monitor.

Bro this is so awesome did you make those character your self or did you edit them out of a picture or something i noticed this was being used by an awesome battlfield youtuber named russians badger he has like 80k subs when i saw his backround i went "oh my god this is epic" i'd definatley subscribe if you made a youtube account with speed drawings btw this is pretty much only youtube backround i like and ive only liked 2

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tri5tate In reply to MrTH3G00DGuy [2013-02-14 20:50:22 +0000 UTC]

Haha thanks man! Actually Badger sent me a mail and asked me if he could have my permission to use the image on his Youtube channel, so I'm well aware of it. Regarding the image it's actually more of a photomanipulation together with some drawing. The two guys in the picture is a regular photograph which is edited in, the background consists of several different layers to create the city. Then we also have the chopper, the light streaks, particles and other stuff that is also added in. It's not one of my most "complicated " images, it only took me around 3-4 hours to make.

Amazing, just amazing. Those light strikes looks exactly like DICE make 'em. I would be more than happy to know how you've made it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tri5tate In reply to wirrew [2012-10-14 13:50:14 +0000 UTC]

Actually (as I say the picture description) I credit DICE because I only used a BF3 light streak picture and used it as a template for the light streaks, and then I painted over them to get them in higher res. I only did that to get the exact same look on the light streaks. But doing light streaks is not too hard, I usually paint with different shades of orange, red and yellow and mix them together using blend modes such as color dodge and overlay.

Thanks for the comment btw!
