So this week, there is a special Sailor Moon event in Tokyo to celebrate 2012 as being the 20th Anniversary of Sailor Moon. So, in celebration of that, I decided to make my comics Sailor Moon in theme, though not in message.This is a problem I have with buying used books here, the most recent being a lovely, complete collection of all the Sailor Moon books (plus Sailor V). There are ads, and I get all excited and then I realize NOO this thing isn't for sale anymore *tearbending*. This is especially true of the Sailor Moon artbooks which , in 1996, 3 and 4 were going for about 20$ (maybe even less then since I think the yen was weaker then). Now, you can rarely find them for less than 200$. The Mandarake in Fukuoka has all 7 artbooks for over 1,000 dollars. WHAT. Why do I not have all the money in the world.
Anyway, I'm sure others have suffered the taunting of the old advertisements, regardless of where they were found.

Ha. I love this. I grew up wanting all the cool stuff advertised in the back of old marvel comics I'd find at Flea Markets. I could never have Megos, x-ray glasses or all those cool t-shirts.

Oh man, the old comics used to get me too. Like, the old disney comics had great ads, and the old archie comics too. They always had special ads for things related to the comics, but they were so old by then, the deals were no longer available T_T

I'll keep my eye out for old sailor V, and I'll look for the artbooks, but the best I can probably do is vol 2. I'm looking for the others myself, and they're darn hard to find >_<

omg so true!!! lol and i am drooling over your sailor moon collection! O.O i have been trying to find the art books for years and all i can find are fakes and ones that are super expensive. T . T but i hate it when i find an ad for something , go to check it out , and then discover its old

1 and 2 are pretty easy to find in Japan, Amazon.com has them for pretty cheap. it's 3 4 and 5 that are the tricky ones. Not to mention infinity which is SUPER rare.
heh, my sailor moon collection is slowly growing, it's kind of scary ^_^;; someday, I should post a pic of the things I've got ^_^

Infinity you probably won't find for less than $230. I don't actually like her later art as much, so the main 5 would be good enough for me ^_^

yea but just having one would be awesome! right now my sailor moon collection is all of sailor V (the re-release)and 1-5 about to get 6 of sailor moon (re-release) i want the originals but they are hard to find now.

Yeah, the English originals are darn hard. I never did get V in English, I've got them in Japanese, but been too busy to read them, and I don't wanna take them on the train, cause I want to keep them safe ^_^

yea thats understandable. actually i dont think they ever did print sailor v in english until now. because when i looked for it all i could find was the original and the scanlations online. but when they did the re release of sailor moon kodansha did sailor v also.
