Some of you may have heard the announcement on the various social medias, but like the information on pregnancy can just be delivered in such strange ways lol. Like I get that some food is standard compared to other things, but between countries at least, they can range in size eheh, so it's still a little up in the air.
Anyway, in the end it feels like they want me to think of the baby as various fruits and veggies, and boy, is than an experience.

Yeah, I know what I should do to take care of myself, there's a list of things to do for pregnant people, and I'm doing what my body can handle. Still doing naginata of course ^_^

I know that's not their intent, and I know why they THINK it's a good idea, except that none of those food items are consistent sizes, especially in different countries. And some places don't have that food item, so the comparison isn't that useful in the end lol

This is true, especially when they use things like apricots.Β I never eat apricots so I have no idea if it's like a peach or smaller.Β I just kind of assume "tiny" until they get to the baseball comparison

It seemed so wierd to me when my wife would bring up our fruit salad ingredient sized child during her pregnancy. Although the other fun facts on the site where interesting, I never could get over the fruit comparison.

See, I'd have agreed with that when I lived in the US, but having moved to Japan, turns out many food are just not the same size or weight at ALLL lol

I take it everything is bigger than in the States, or is most of it smaller? I'm really only familiar with Japan through anime and manga, and we all know how realistic that is. XD

Depends on the product ^_^ Fuji apples are massive here, Asian pears are massive, Carrots are HUGE, but eggplants, strawberries, zucchini are smaller

I've read a few manga with giant white carrot-type veggies, but I have no idea if they're actually carrots or not. I've never seen them anywhere else.

Those are Daikon, and they're radishes. Carrots look the same here, just a lot larger than the skinny US counterparts.
