Description A view down the longest straight section of tunnel underneath the remains of Vila Rebar, an infamous villa built by notorious Ustaše leader Ante Pavelić. Head of the Independent State of Croatia - a fascist puppet state created after the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941 - Pavelić had overseen the construction and extension of a vast network of tunnels under the Croatian capital of Zagreb, a network whose one end terminated here, on the slopes of Medvednica mountain, some six km from the city center. Freely accessible from inside the villa, only a guesstimated 100 meters of the tunnels (and two storage chambers) are accessible, with one suspected link to the rest of the network blocked off.

Also, do not let the action of three flashlights and a three-minute exposure confuse you - the tunnels are pitch black, cold and deathly silent.
