John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers - Mists Of Time

______________________________________________________________

Somewhere in the world are friends I've missed from long ago
Could be drifting by the wayside or even dead - I just don't know
And now my memories are fading like melting footprints in the snow

I love this photo, RichardΒ  Β  How the rays of light penetrate between the clouds, and the detail of the small bird that flies on the left side. The image, all of it, is wonderful.

The song also enchanted me, but the image reminded me of another, which is not so beautiful but speaks of light that we all need now and always...

I'm so glad that you do like it, Angeles...thanks a million
Ideally I would have liked the bird a little bit further into the frame. I don't recall if I even knew he was there originally or noticed him when editing the photo. Either way that is one thing painters have over photographers. Painters can place their "elements" anywhere they like on the canvas while photographers, if they want to keep the integrity pf their photographs intact, aren't allowed such creative freedom. Because my roots are in journalism we were taught to shoot as found to insure credibility...a mainstay of journalism (or should be). Using Photoshop I could easily move the bird wherever I wanted it placed in the image but I shoot 'em as I find 'em and dam the torpedoes
A beautiful tune...reminds me of a cross between Yes and ELP

I'm glad you liked it... Emerson, Lake & Palmer, right? Great group!

Don't think that painters control everything. Sometimes in a watercolor I have left a spot of color where I did not want and in the end that spot of color is what has given meaning to the whole. Chance sometimes helps

I believe that the bird is where it had to be, and why it had to be. It is a very small detail in the image, but it has a great meaning, at least for me.
And you do not need to use Photoshop, my friend. Your photos speak with their own beauty language and does not need retouching Β

Yes Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I think Palmer is the only one of the three still walking on the planet
I see...hadn't realized that but should have. Water color (my favorite) is a finicky medium I would imagine.
So kind of you to say. I do use Photoshop to enhance an image (contrast, tone levels, light levels, sharpen, cropping, straighten, etc.) but never to "alter/manip" an image. I stay true to my journalistic roots even though in art there should be no such restraints imposed upon oneself. It should be image by any means necessary as long as it's grouped clearly so as not to mislead viewers into believing it's something that's not.

That's normal. I also have to retouch all my paintings to get closer to the original color, because scanning them all the colors change. Sometimes they look almost nothing like the originalΒ

Art as life each one understands it in his own way, and there are people who wear masks always...Β  Β Β

I know what you mean some transitions from original to DA just don't calculate.
Hmm...good suggestion. I'm going to get a mask to wear so people that I know won't recognize me
