A new, old world map for Naruto. It coincides with the upcoming chapter of "A Voice in the Wind:"

Sakura rapped once and, receiving permission to enter, opened the Hokage's office door to be greeted by another push of warm air. Apparently even Tsunade had figured out a way to enjoy the fine weather: a window behind her desk was cracked open. The little gust of wind rippled across the papers scattered across her desk. Sakura quickly shut the door before anything could take flight.

Tsunade's desk was normally had several stacks of papers. But this time, the papers had been relegated to the floor. On the desk now stretched a wide map. Either side flopped over the edge of the desk, tipping back up in fat curls. Scattered across the map were scraps of paper, clan symbols, jotted notes and thick files. Sakura initially thought they were just strewn over the surface, but as she drew closer it became clear that the little piles corresponded to locations. So, only the largest nations are represented with, as you would expect, Fire and Konoha at the center. The border countries are all there, but they are such a changing lot that they don't get any labeling. However, their borders are sketched in by Konoha's cartographer anyway.

Since these countries would have been formed out of necessity, I tried to have their borders correspond to topographical barriers when possible. Hence the mountains at the borders of Earth and Wind (particularly Wind, with the sudden shift from green to rugged desert mimicking the American southwest). Lightning apparently has a rugged coastline. Water is secretive, so they got their hidden village behind the mountain range that divides them from the rest of the countries. The only other delineating geographical feature is the white snow up at the top for the Land of Snow, and that's only because it was so easy!

Since this goes with the story, I don't need to label the border countries, it not essential. But everything is accurate, even down to the clouds of the Rain country!

Done in two afternoons, on wacom cintiq, using lovely new pencil brushes in ps5. Referenced the same old awful Naruto maps that are floating around everywhere.

Credit me if you use it, and download for full size!!(Also, I have another version that does not have such a big grey blot for the rain country on it! Just ask if you want it for cosplay or whatever. They are supposed to be rain clouds, but I realize if someone is enlarging and printing it out, it might look too black and blotty.)
