Description Made for traditional art contest - youngmoons.deviantart.com/jour...
It is a result of a rather strange train of thought. My genes are going nowhere, i'm going to make sure of that. But they come from many places, and later on i want to become... a tree.
It's way larger than i usually paint so i had to take a photo and fix the colors as well as i could. And it's never well enough.
Watercolors.

This is a very beautiful piece with great colors! Pictures/photos never seem to do the artwork justice lol. I really like it. I did one just like this recently, except it was a fetus with a heart tree, but I can see you did this way before me. And much better, too, lol. I really do love it, and all of your artworkΒ Β

Again, gorgeous color! I love how you transition from one thing into something that's completely unrelated. very Jacob Gagnon! (well, minus the not-black background...)Β i love it!

I think this transition into something unrelated is called surrealism... but who knows.
I'll never be half as good as that bastard though.

I thought the colours were off, now I see why.
It's hard to take a decent photograph and rework the colours in a way they seem natural and right. It looks a bit over saturated (in photoshop, right?).

Interesting concept. Also I like the composition, especially the lower part of the image.
But on the other hand, the transformation is almost apparent, because the tree was not given enough space. It would be either better to make a longest paper sheet and add more from the above, also enlarge the tree, or just make the girl and her surroundings smaller, and the whole composition a bit lower on the paper sheet.

Aside that, it's a good work.

If there's something i hate it's this art school arseshit about compositions. I paint for my own fun now, no dipshits are going to grade it. It is bad compositions till i die, baby. The sole purpose is to enjoy.

Genny-Raskin In reply to TrollGirl [2013-06-30 20:48:20 +0000 UTC]

Why do you talk to me like that? "arseshit", "dipshit"...
I'm not your enemy, nor your little sister, nor your fucking teacher who failed you on every test because I like the other guy realistic stuff around. Doing things right, or let me correct myself - better, are not supposed to take the "fun" away from you.
What's the point seeing all the "wow" and "gorgeous" comments around if you can not have a bit of constructive criticism? Being a pro, means you enjoy what you do, yes (I hope so at least), you do it a lot, yes, but also you try to improve yourself. And learning is not about grades or school, it's about your own progress and evolution of art, and also it's about hearing another persons opinion, beside "beautiful" and such.
And this negative, even rude, kind of attitude won't get you far ahead.
Yeah, it's good what you do, but you'll push away anyone with an opinion, and leave yourself engulfed with comment's like "I luf ur art", which will bring you nowhere ahead. You'll just be stuck on your current level for quite a long time, until it will become boring either for yourself or for constant watchers, or even friends.

Um, dude, let's read properly before we fluff up.
When we do read properly we realize the hints are at my own school teachers and their ideas of what's proper. Not you, Nothing of that was about you. So chill the duck out.

Also to be fair i'm alright with the level i'm on, and it evolves in it's own pace, so no need to threaten me, it doesn't work.

Genny-Raskin In reply to TrollGirl [2013-06-30 23:32:43 +0000 UTC]

First if you read properly I do not represent your teachers, nor should be addressed a rant that was originally directed to them. The only opinion I represent is mine, hence I'd expect a reply that is connected solely to this opinion, which I posted above. Feel free to rant over your teachers, that's cool, but keep in mind that I'm not one of them, nor even know them. So be clear when you do so, to avoid such "fluff ups" in the future.

Now if using that point of view (yours, described above, to my best understanding), then why did you reply completely unrelated reply to MY comment? You brought your opinion on things that are not here, were not here, and were not even though of to be here. I mean your reply in such context completely unrelated to mine. How should I have understood that in the first place?
(I'm not one of those teachers, never was in such position in the institution you attended, never made anything to hurt you, or at least I hope so, nor gave you any grades and said that someone is better than you in your class because of anything there is, I don't even know your class.)

And no, I am not threatening you, to post a threat to someone, it should be direct, such as I'll do something to you and etc. It's just a warning, warning over a particular attitude. I bring you the possible consequences of your actions, nothing more. I do not wish to threaten you, nor to harm you. I just don't like when people talk to me in such manner, and so I say so. Also I say that I might lose interest because of that attitude, and I might be not the only one to feel so, since I seen it here and there in other comments addressed to other people on your page, and works. You can care or you can give a "*hit", whatever. This is what I meant.

You could just say in the first place, that your current state in art satisfies you and avoid this awkward conversation. The only thing I'd say in such case is "ok", or something alike.
