I've read a theory that the house symbols are the founders' patronuses (patronii?). Personally, I accept that headcannon.

I counted 28. If I wasn't already a fan of HP, your art is compelling enough to make me want to read the series.

It's a tricky question if you count as characters stuff like the cat-Mcgonagall, Luna's patronus, the pygmy puff...

I counted all of those, and I was even tempted to count the Snitch! I'm rather OCD about these things... Which book was your favorite?

My favorite is Chamber of Secrets. I especially like the first few books when Harry and the reader are new to the magical world, before the story gets really dark at the end of Goblet of Fire. I did not like the 5th or 7th books because of all the bad things that happened in them (mostly Umbridge and her ideals) although all the books are very well written.

Truly gorgeous! Luna is my favorite HP girl! I agree with you about the mascots--as a Ravenclaw myself the raven makes more sense, just as a gryphon would have been a more suitable mascot for Gryffindor.

I dunno. Sometimes artists have needs to paint. I don't know really because I'm not an artist myself. I've been told by others.

This looks great! I think the raven- eagle thing is pretty confusing, and this is coming from a Ravenclaw. There are so many wonderful fanarts but they'll always get something wrong with the house, the colours (I go by the books) or the mascot (I have seen like 10 fanarts or the hogwarts mascots where about 7 of them depict the mascot as a raven). It's kind of annoying. But I deal with it, it's not to bad. It's the colour thing that really annoys me the most.

You have blue and silver for Luna's tie, not blue and bronze. It's a common mistake, in the movies it's blue and silver, which does look nice, but in the books it's blue and bronze and I see that as "correct". It really only annoys me because my Ravenclaw scarf is not book cannon and it causes a lot of fan-made things to be only blue and silver, or at least disagree on what constitutes as bronze. I see it as a more light brown-orange, but I have seen a whole spectrum of colours representing bronze. Luckily, some people hand out two versions of say jewellery or scarves, one for the book and one for the movie, but I don't feel like that should have even be an issue.
However, you did a good job, unless your specifically looking at the colours, it's hard to tell. I do really like this piece, it's lovely! I find water colours a hard medium to work with, so I love it when someone does a great job with them!

I agree with you about the Ravenclaw mascot. Ravens and crows are among the most intelligent of birds. Eagles, not so much.
