Description Tartar
----------
Derivation: Corruption of Ta-Ta (meaning goodbye) and Tar
Abilties: Sticky Hold, Liquid Ooze
Classification: Traffic Pokemon

Their bodies are made of an oozy, tar-like substance perfect for blending in with shadows. They hide under traffic cones to blend in with their surroundings and use their traffic light lens - which shine either red, amber and green - to display emotion. Red is considered a sign of shock, fright or apprehension, Amber is a neutral state or to signal expectancy and green is happiness, readiness or excitement.

Gelitar
------------
Derivation: Gel, Tar & Gelitine
Abilties: Sticky Hold, Liquid Ooze
Classification: Traffic Pokemon

Only found in urban areas, Gelitar are more inquisitive and bolder than Tartar, a nature that allows them to move closer to human-populated areas to absorb more materials. Gelitar are capable of expressing a wider range of emotions using various combinations of their traffic light lenses. They tend to assimulate and absorb materials and objects they find on roadwork sites.

Tariffic
-----------
Derivation: Tar & Teriffic
Abilties: Sticky Hold, Liquid Ooze
Classification: Traffic Pokemon

Having absorbed massive amounts of traffic and construction materials, Tariffic can be found on construction sites looking for more objects to assimulate. They are deceptively intelligent and use semaphire codes with their traffic light lenses to communicate each other. Tariffic usually look for materials that will allow them to either protect themselves or form a more cohesive shape for their bodies.

Thanks so much for the critique I'm pleased you like these guys, and to answer your question about light pollution: my designs usually have several things going on at once in their representation. This one is about general urban pollution, so light/noise/construction themes are all going on I actually have to update these guys at some point since they were made pretty early on in my dex, though the designs will remain basically the same - I just need to update the art and style

Hey! I know you're unsure of coming back to DA, but I say you should! You do a great job! Also, I love these 3 designs. I am making a fan made pokemon game with 100-200 new pokemon, and this would fit right in! If you let me use this, I would pay you a few dollars, and I would credit you. Do you think I could use this? Thanks, and have a good day

Trueform In reply to NintenDrewYT [2016-08-03 11:21:22 +0000 UTC]

Hi there
Thank you, I appreciate your opinion. As for the fan game, I'm afraid I'm not letting my designs be used in other projects right now, since I'm undecided about my presence here, sorry :Saddummy: I'm pleased you like them though

Coolkuy [2016-07-17 15:32:57 +0000 UTC]

Real Life:
Tartar's hat looks like a cone, but its actually its exoskeleton, made with the same thing as shells. They also have a high level of bioluminescence in the grey "tail" on the back of tar-tar, the same thing as fireflies and glow worms. It isnt known why, but its most likely either a mating ritual, or communicating. It is often mistaken as live tar.

Gelitar are larger relatives of tartars, with 2 shells, for extra protection. They now have 2 "tails" giving even more ways to communicate. They often are around packs, and if one senses danger, its tails will glow red and they will hide in the shells. However, for mating, they usually split up, and after mating, will find new packs.

Tariffics are so sticky, they can pick up almost anything smaller than itself. They now have 3 shells and 3 tails, for more protection and more communication. These nocturnal slugs are huge, almost as big as a giant florida conch, But there shells are extremely shell from its body size. They often use often other items it picks up for protection instead.

Huh, that's pretty weird I used to read goosebumps books, but there are quite a few I didn't get round to so that must be one of them! My favourite was the werewolf of fever swamp

Bobjeezorham15 [2015-08-31 23:32:57 +0000 UTC]

I definitely would have preferred it if Pokémon used Tartar instead of Trubbish. Great idea!

Trueform In reply to Bobjeezorham15 [2015-09-01 15:44:22 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I don't mind trubbish so much - it kind of grew on me - but garbador is just so hideous

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bobjeezorham15 In reply to Trueform [2015-09-05 04:07:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I guess Trubbish is kinda decent, now that I look at it clearly. I still think it's a silly idea, but, eh, it could've looked worse. Ugh, Garbador is hideous. I think the pom-poms on it's head make it look even more ridiculous...

I find it a bit of a funny sight, though, hah.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trueform In reply to Bobjeezorham15 [2015-09-05 22:58:18 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I agree, it's not a very award-winning design approach but I guess they can't all be winners
They really do, I just don't... ugh. Horrible. I think people either love it or hate it and there are few Pokemon I really dislike but that is one of the exceptions. It sort of reminds me of a poop pokemon in some ways

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bobjeezorham15 In reply to Trueform [2015-09-06 18:22:34 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I agree with those statements, hah. Hopefully Pokémon doesn't get so uncreative that it slaps eyes on everything and calls it a new Pokémon. A feces Pokémon would be horrible, lol.
