Description Firstly, I must say that this man's song in The Princess and the Frog is phenomenal, not just from a musician's perspective, but from an artist's as well. Good lord, the animation for this scene was AMAZING.

So, Dr. Facilier (known also as the Shadow Man) is the villain in Disney's new movie. I saw it with my sister yesterday and, good lord, we were both blown away. I haven't seen a Disney movie this amazing in theaters since Tarzan came out.

Anyway, this guy is a total badass. His shadow gives him a high five, for goodness sake! I love him to pieces.

I'm not entirely sure if I got his outfit right...and I cannot draw lips very well. I'm still pretty happy with this, though. Sketched out by hand, but edited with Photoshop. Just a few touch-ups, and nothing more.

He totally is! I love him so much. From the moment I saw him give his shadow a high-five in the commercial, I knew I would like him.

Thank you!

I was kinda like "HO MAN! Did he just high five his shadow?!" and watched it again and squealed when he did. That is the coolest thing EVER.

Pssh, definetly. I've been apt to carrying home-made voodoo dolls around and sporting my Facilier tophat

Wow, really great capture of the Disney style. I love how his jacket and eyes turned out!

It seems that villains with a space between their teeth are getting popular - first the Music Meister, now rhis dude.

XD Gap-teethed villains are amazing. They are getting pretty popular, aren't they?

This man is really cool. He's not my favorite Disney villain, but he's awesome.

It cetainly looks like it!

He looks pretty cool, I have to see the movie to know, but I love the voice actor's singing.
Incidentially, which are your favourite Disney villains?

Haha, he is amazing. I hope you enjoy the film when you do get to see it.

Judge Claude Frollo will always be my favorite Disney Villain. After him comes a tie with other villains. Frollo is just so lost...so bad. It's amazing. Who are your favorites?

Yay, I think Frollo is a good villain, too - he scared me so much as a kid.

I think my favourites are Frollo and Jafar. I like the smart, scheming ones.

Ahh, yes, the smart scheming villains are incredible. Ratigan from "The Great Mouse Detective" was phenomenal, too.

Frollo is just so torn between the church and his own desires. Poor fellow...but he is still amazing.

I forgot Ratigan as I only watched the movie as a little kid (and he's a rat ), but he was cool, too, with a diabolic plan all set up.
Scar the lion was good, too, in a Hamlet's Evil Uncle kind of way.

Yes, I think Frollo was a villain older audiences could understand better, with his deeper characterisation.

Yeah, Hunchback is very dark for a Disney movie. Older folks can appreciate it more, I'd say.

I'd definitely say so, too. Though that's what makes cartoons like that awesome.

I was quite impressed with Fantastic Mr. Fox. Have you seen that one?

I have not seen that one yet. I saw the commercial...it looked kind of weird.

This movie is absolutely amazing!

It's because it's all stop-motion. It comes off as weird sometimes, but it's astonishing for anyone that can appreciate the amount of work involved in making a movie like it.

I need to see it!

I just watched Wallace and Gromit, and I really appreciate the stop-motion they use for that. The design of Mr. Fox just looks kinda...weird. I mean, I'll watch it, but I don't know if I'd spend the money on watching it in theaters.

Crepesculum In reply to Trumpeteer34 [2009-12-17 08:32:43 +0000 UTC]

I love Wallace and Gromit. The design is a little sketchy at times, but I loved it for it's uniqueness. The director is known for his amazing stuff, and the appeal of it being a kid's movie, but with (lots of in my opinion) underlying adult themes is what really got me.

I saw it after dinner with Zack one night. It was totally worth it. (But, I might totally be bias...because I love foxes XD)

Hmm, that could make it biased...but I have heard good things about it from other people too.

I love Wallace and Gromit. They both make me so happy.
