thank you! No idea why it is called that. One possibility is that the upper falls owe 12 feet from US-2 Highway and you cannot see the falls from the highway.

Thanks! This was last Saturday morning. There was tons of snow at the summit but you drop down quickly and at the falls there was very little. But a lot of mist from the falls.

Wow! That's the same with Mt Baker area! I was just up there this morning for sunrise. You go down towards Nooksack Falls & there's nothing! Weird!

Thank you! This was one of those locations where you plan your shot, select the options on your camera and stop to wipe the mist off the lens and then quickly shoot…and then wipe the lens again. That waterfall through up a lot of mist.
