First of all, I really like this cosplay. It's one of the best Edward Elric cosplays I've ever seen. The pose was taken right out of FMA: Brotherhood's opening so it's fitting and looks natural. With that said, this cosplay has two flaws that are common among most cosplays (even good ones):
1. First, the clothes do look like a costume. It's clearly not something a person would wear in real life. You can tell that by the brightness of the red cloak and the fact that it's not very complex in the way it was sewn. I understand that sometimes this can't be helped. The only real solution is to sew your own costumes and use fabrics that you'd use to make normal clothes so that they don't look unnatural.
2. The hair looks a little fake. Not so much because of the photo editing but still kinda too yellow. Natural hair is never yellow, it's blond. I know Ed's hair is yellow in the anime but by cosplaying we're trying to make other people see what their favorite characters would look like in real life. Unfortunately I don't think anyone can afford to pay hundreds of dollars for a wig that's probably only going to be worn once or twice for just a single cosplay, especially if that someone does a lot of cosplaying.
