Finally submitting something new.
And it's 100% fractal. Also a spiral. 
I wanted to design something that would make a nice general seasonal greeting card and also work as a large print for any season. What do you think?
Ultra Fractal 5, 17 layers, fullsize render at 10800x7200 with 3x3 antialiasing - took 26 hrs. I really like this formula, a custom julia set distorting a julia set. It almost always makes a big mess but you can find some great parameter sets with patience and a lot of parameter tweaking. One of the Laris formulas in SAM.ufm.
As always, the print doesn't have the huge distracting watermark on it.

This is quite lovely and certainly lives up to your quality of work Tryst. I LOVE the coloring, it's just so unique!
The only critique I would have would be on the cropping. Personally I would crop it to leave out the last small spiral peeking in on the left. I either want to see it all or none of it. It seems rather cut off as is.
You might have to mess with the angle somewhat, but I think it would benefit the image overall in the end, but that is just my opinion and heck I'm no expert lol.
Again, very lovely job, I'm quite jealous!

Somehow conveys a great sense of expanse, despite being only monitor-size: a geological oddity at the brink of an icy wilderness...

Wonderful palette! I particularly like the way the orange/brown shades on the spiral mutate into blue and the way those colours are subtly echoed in the background I also love the way the spiral appears to be emanating from the background.

I really like the shape of the main spiral and the way the lines in the background seem to emanate from it. Nice contrast between the main spiral and the background, too. I like the lines in the spiral and the way Difference (I assume) merge mode not only makes them stand out by introducing a new color, but also changes the colors through the spiral. It seems as though those lines are heating up the farther out they move from the center or conversely, cooling down as they move inward.

I am totally with you there... I am trying to focus so that I don't feel the pain so much.... and this is a tough one..... The doc said leave the computer alone til I'm better....
Some things just have a problem sticking with me....
UF is nearly impossible for me at present though,,,,, but still I try when I can
