First of all, the very first thing that strikes the viewer is the extreme contrast between the darker and lighter shades. The impact is thus pretty high. You were able to bring out the emotion quite perfectly! Kudos to that! I believe you tried to distinguish the left hand side with thinner strokes, but I would have prefered it just blank, maybe with some lighter shades, but not as thin you have applied there.
I believe, your strength lies in the randomness of brush strokes and portrait-painting.
Hence, I must say, you were right near perfection with the eyes.
The thin white strokes on the right bring up the dynamism as well!

This. Is. A. Masterpiece. as usual e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

In “Anxiety,” Alexandra Haynak’s abstract drawing of a woman in an emotive state, she uses contrasting light and dark chaotic lines. The strokes are bold and frenetic. Immediately upon viewing, the sorrowful eyes captivate, whilst the lines break the surrounding foreground and background into disjointed pieces.

The division of light conveys a dichotomy of emotion. The chaotic lines in the foreground convey the sense of stress and desperation. The dark bold lines convey a sense of being absorbed by darkness.
Haynak has effectively communicated through this drawing a sense of anxiety. I can feel the overwhelming emotions through this engaging abstract drawing. The individual is threatened to be consumed by a moment of extreme uncertainty. A decision, a choice must be made as the mind races to find an answer, but none are in sight. This drawing aptly conveys this unabashedly.

It is wonderful to have Haynak sharing her talents with the art community. She has demonstrated one of the fundamental pillars of what art is meant to do – evoke a feeling. I hope her talents continue to grow and I am thankful for her insights into the human condition through a medium that can convey so much more than words.

I first saw this work, and needed to go away think, because I liked it, the reasons were original, I could be msking history, in that I am sure the artist is defintely original, so a road exists to a museum must have ex a mples called categories.
The want to see the artists other work means artist is signposted, so a comfort in the value is certain,
I certainly have to watch
The lines are not lines, but streets,
The dsrkness is a cloud,
The person is a perspn
What could the growth be
Excitement is building, a museum could be watching since artistry in its own category, well thats life, lolj

From my perspective, this is one of the most affecting Tsukiko's works at the moment. It's strange, but I can say that this artwork is a horror one - without blood or scary faces, author made me feel anxiety with only character's eyes and darkness that devours picture, and it's a really rare experience for me.

Combination of blinding light on the left side and harsh, heavy dark on the right side makes the perfect contrast - I can't agree with Tristanvd123's wish of "dark grey tones" (that he expressed in his critique), because anything else then saturated black will destroy all the stunning impression of the artwork. It seems like darkness devours the character - that's why she feel anxiety and that's why she have such an eloquent look right at the viewer's eyes. As for me, nothing should be added to this picture or removed from it - it's already complete and, as I can say, it copes with the transfer of emotions to the viewer perfectly.

"Anxiety" is a very unsettling artwork for me, but that's why I love it so much - I can hardly hemember the picture that made me feel scared using only character's eyes and darkness that thickens around her. I really appreciate this kind of horror. - R. Order

Wow, this is a very lovely emotional peace. I love the battle with the light and dark. You can rilly see how the anxiety is pulling the girl apart and taking over her life the line art is beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this drawing it is very very beautiful! Anxiety like many of your other peaces is very emotional but unlike much of your other art it showcases only black and white. A very powerful way to communicate the idea of light and dark. The power of the expression the eyes in particular is almost enough for the whole peace. Wonderful!

I probabaly shouldn't even writing a critique since i'm still a beginner in the universe of art, oh well, i'll give it a shot. And this ''review'' or critique or however you would like to call it is in a nutshell below.

I personally like this piece. The face of the woman has the right amount of detail, because it still captures the face well without looking so realistic that it looks out of place and the simplified form of the body really lays the focus on the face and the surround lines.

I also like the emotion on the face. With the white/grey/black color i prefer a sad of neutral emotion shown, you pulled that off nicely.

But there is only 1 thing that I don't really like, The darker parts on the right. Whilst tr transition from light to dark from the left to the face looks nice, the sudden black spots feel like a ''wall''. The spreaded dark spots on the right are just too powerful, i'd rather prefer dark grey tones and maybe a little black on the side.

Overall a nice piece, here's eveything in a nutshell! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

+ Right amount of detail on the face

+ Simplified body resulting in the focus being on the face and surrounding lines

+ Right emotion on the face considering the color scheme

- The transition from dark to light. The sudden black spots on the right have way more power then the rest of this art piece. Seems a little out of place. I prefer dark grey tones and some black on the sides.

This has the exact amount of lights and darks . Your eye travels over the rendering smoothly and lands on the eyes. Emotion pulls you in and releases you back out .My favorite piece.

This is exactly how I imagine that my anxiety looks! I know it makes my thought processes feel that they are dark, broken and tangled. Sometimes, I consider medication....then I decide "Nope!" Anxiety just makes me who I am!

My advice is be your own critic. I find when I do something new I often feel I've found my niche. Then it's off to the next, so just keep doing. Don't get discouraged. Your work is stunning.

I think you kinda got it halfway on this one! those zigzagging lines are very similar to the emotions only people like me feel especially happening to me on the most nights as i try to describe these emotions on some of my drawings but never always seem to achieve the full emotion i wanna display but all in all this is good i can really understand this piece right here.
