Ok, first off, you do beautiful work! This could no be more true. But if you were going to realism in a surrealism setting than this has a few problems. The hair flow is not natural, the face could not be more perfect but the bangs and hair flow back is very artificial. I suggest maybe when you set up for a painting take a picture of yourself in that pose and study it. Because it's not a secret hair doesn't behave, this goes true for paintings. Otherwise a beautiful painting and wonderful colors! It makes it very beautiful and need to use one more word, now I'm ok

I'm trying to wrap my head around this one. The subject appears to be rather stoic, or perhaps lost in thought. From the way the black is enveloping the subject I deduce that the subject is indeed lost in thought and they are rather dark thoughts. Not to say they are evil, but dark thoughts none the less. And you leave us with this mystery of "What is she thinking about?"

Okay ^^ It's a strange thing - for all my life teatchers in art school teached us how to paint something banal, like portraits in realism or nature. There is a thousands of pictures that looks almost the same, made in same manner, and this is too boring thing for me. On the other hand, somehow I never felt satisfied when I'm painted a happy picture - for me it seems less interesting then picture that have some kind of conflict (visible or inner, for example, conflict of character's emotions), some kind of story behind the picture, that viewer can uncover by himself or interpret in his own way. I don't feel bad when I'm painting, it's just a kind of emotional tone that seems interesting to me ^^
