Gael grew up with his mother, father and older sister Meridith. The family worked in a textiles and launderette so each member was good with fabrics. Gael learned how to sew clothes, patch ripped fabric, clean various materials and did his part to run the business. He is and always has been unduly clumsy. Making mistakes causes him to apologise to the high heavens. He gets embarrassed very easily and shrinks back into himself.

Gael and Meridith’s parents took a trip alone, leaving the children with the business for a few weeks. When those weeks were up and the parents never returned the children tried their best to wait for them and bring in the money. In the end the finances never tallied up to a profit and they were forced to sell the business and rent an apartment, waiting for their parents. They never returned.

Meridith always had OCD and it worsened when she had to scrape together money for the two of them. Seeing his sister suffer with the finances and her condition Gael decided to get a job and was recruited by Gideon. Gideon paid enough for the two of them to get by and he later transferred employment of Gael to the EP house, giving him more work and more money to pay for Meridith’s treatment.
