Been super busy with the holidays, but this was one of the reasons. For ages, my mother has been asking me to do up my version of the Maiden/Mother/Crone aspects, so for Christmas, my fiance had the brilliant idea to draw my momma as the Mother aspect. Spent about a month off and on with this, I was worried that I was rusty at realism as its been probably about 10 years since I've tried anything. lol I'm very pleased to say, that this exceeded my expectations. And I made my momma cry. A lot. Then my dad cried. And I cried. It was messy. But they were all happy tears.All in all, I'm very proud of this and Christmas this year was amazing. My total tally for weeping family members is 5 (including myself). Which is damn near my entire immediate family. Huuhuuhuu XD

But to date, this is definitely one of my most proudest works. People who know my mom who didn't know I'd based this off her were all "WOW this looks like your mom!" and I was all "Yessssssssssss *^*"
Seriously, the crying that ensued. The ugly happy crying. lol It was magical.

Thank you. Seriously, the really means a lot. I'm trying to find my stride, so to speak, and this one and that Mucha-esque one I just recently finished are certainly two of my all time favourites to have jumped off my New Year with. <333 And actually my momma loves this pic so much she WANTS me to share and make prints available for everyone. She has the original. I plan on doing the Maiden and Crone (me and my grandma respectively) to fully complete the set, too.

I don't think I have the words to capture all the loveliness I see in this artwork! I especially love the reflected light from the orb/symbol she is holding. The details of the flowers and shading of the skin is also phenomenal. I can see why such a meaningful piece which is excellent execution would cause happy tears.
