......."The Bridge". It was a section of the plains that leads to The Void, where void(the substance) came from. Raw magic from the plain drips into it, creating the white 'soil' and 'trees' but the closer to the void, the more barren it gets. It is unclear how long he stayed here or what happens after, but whenever the other scientists saw him again, he was in a far worse state than when he left. Unstable and melting.

*Parts of the void was alive in some way.
There are beings born from it, some hostile, some not.

*I wasn't so lucky.
It chewed it's way through my soul.

Percy is one of his colleagues, but she doesn't really pose plot relevance and I haven't designed her yet as a result. Feel free to send me the products of your imagination though.
