GREER GRANT began her life in crime-fighting as The Cat, a human with peak physical abilities who dressed in cat-themed tights. She later became the were-cat, TIGRA, through a mystic ritual that bound her soul to one of the Cat People in order to save her life. This caused her to gain all the physical attributes associated with cats—superior agility, stealth, speed, strength, claws and senses, and even a light fur coat.
