Description Happy Sister's Daaaaay! I realize I could have just replaced the text in my Coronation Day GIF and called it a day, but nope.

This is avatar-friendly, so feel free use it as such! To use in a comment, there's an option on the bottom left of your comment box: "Add Media". Click it. Search for my name, "Pleased", or "Frozen". Click on this icon and unleash Elsa's adorability.

I just like looking at this and seeing Elsa where she finally gets the happy ending she deserves; she's rekindled her estranged relationship with her sister, she's learnt to control her powers and she no longer lives in fear and she has a happy kingdom of people who love her for who she is. I really wish I could do Frozen justice with some fanfiction but alas my writing is terrible... So I look on and dream that one day I'll be like Elsa too.

Yeah, I'm so happy for her. It's great that she's continuing to live a happy life after the movie, as Fever shows.

I also feel that way with drawing, wishing I could make fanart that does it justice. But hey, that's exactly why I keep drawing. Otherwise, I'll never get to that point.

And hopefully you won't have to be isolated from the rest of the world for 13 years for that to happen.

I'm happy for her too. I'm glad both Anna and Elsa can live their happily ever after together. I'm just anxious that the confirmed sequel isn't going to live up to how good the original is.

I really want to make more fanwork this coming year because I love Anna and Elsa so much. When I see my Animator's Collection dolls Anna and Elsa together it makes me want to write for before the accident happened, but I also want to write about their happily ever after too. I just want to create sweet and happy short stories that'll warm people's hearts a little when they read them. I wish you luck in your creative pursuits as well, I'll have to look at your actual art and not just your (very good) icons.

Yeah, it's gonna be hard trying to reach such a high standard. I have faith, though! Disney knows that people will have high hopes and they're working accordingly. They've got some really dedicated people on the team.

They're such compelling characters, those two! Those are definitely worth writing about. I love seeing the little in-betweens people come up with. Heartwarmers are wonderful. I'll be sure to check out your work sometime too. Best of luck to you!

how do you make icons?

Tumthe3 In reply to TDRaMAfan [2015-03-03 02:08:53 +0000 UTC]

I usually use Photoshop/ImageReady CS2. I'd make sure I have the video file of the thing I want to make an icon out of. Then I grab the frames from the portion of the video I want, save them in a folder, and using ImageReady, File > Import Folder as Frames. Then I adjust the layers (which act as the frames for the icon) with things like adjustment layers for colour balance and levels. I also make sure to crop the GIF into a square and resize to 50 x 50 (I never stretch it -- that distorts the image). For more complicated animations (e.g. Deal With It GIFs) I use After Effects.

Here's a pretty good starting point if you're interested in making GIFs. But for icons that don't move, it's a lot simpler. You just take an image, adjust whatever you feel like adjusting, and crop/resize it.

I hope that made sense. Let me know if you have more questions.

I think it's best that people prone to seizures stay away from the comment sections of emoticons.
