i've always loved those. in dutch, we have a very strange but cute name for meerkats. it would translate to "stick-tails" or something. sounds better in dutch though. "stokstaartje"

Hahaha! These lil creatures crack me up everytime i see them. They reminds me of cats, but at the same time they sometimes act like humans. Nice shot

Great details, very sharp. A compositional option here would of been to frame the face of the meerkat towards the upper right corner. This gives the viewer insight into what the animal is looking at. Generally you would find, depending on the actual colours and shapes, that the viewers eye would start on the creature then follow the line of the animals sight to explore the rest of the image. Framing as you have done leaves little to explore.

Hopefully I was of help. A great thing to do I find is to look at other people's photography, especially that of proffessionals, soon you'll pick up on consistencies and techniques they use and can apply them to your own.
