The lesser shitty of shitty art projects that I've done for school. The time they give you to do pieces is ridiculous. Like two or three class periods for large scale pieces e___e This one was probably a 3-4 class period assignment, and A3.This assignment was working with negative space first, and using only complimentary colors. By god what shitty watercolors they have in my school. This is a mix of my own and ones from school, since they were so bad that I refused to paint with them partway in. The paper's awful for painting too. eAeInspired by the SkΓΆll and Hati Norse mythology, this being Hati. I'm really not sure how I should view this picture. It was originally made/drawn to be a horizontal piece, but then I colored and finished it this way sta.sh/01xu99aao32f , but I feel like this way it gets the night-ending, moon-chasing feeling more, and the blue isn't as overwhelming. I don't know, what do you guys think? :]

I love this so much!! I did a project depicting Hati as well! I used matte board and black construction paper, and I have been wanting to do an inverse version of it to depict Skoll, but never got around to it haha. I love love love the style of this.Β

This piece is phenomenal. The vertical aspect of it is definitely a nice touch, even if it was intended to be horizontal. I had a pen sketch with a similar orientation and a portfolio critic was saying that it would have made more sense for the moon to be on top... But in all honesty, the way this looks does lend itself to that sense of chasing.
And I hear ya about shitty school supplies. eff that shit.

Β The shading on Hati is so smooth, three-dimensional, well-textured and realistic, the anatomy is fantastic especially compared to your earlier wolf drawings, and I like the vertical composition of this piece, plus the colours work wonderfully together! <3
