Description
Original drawing date: summer 2020 Man, I really wish I had a scanner by now. But even that won’t do it justice, because I used metallic blue paint for the sword.
This was the first drawing I made that I considered both “good” and “finished” in a long time. The process to getting here did take multiple sketches, and getting the proportions of the sword right was pretty difficult. Right now, I have an Amaterasu nendoroid with sword which would’ve made this much easier. But I’m still pretty proud of this one.
What have I learned/done better?
- Gradient in coloring pencils, using my new fineliners to make colored lines. A lot of firsts here.
- Perspective! Sort of. A sword counts right?
What could I do better?
-Since the flames were more of a spontaneous addition than something planned, I don’t like how they lay out in the drawing. Drawing fire is also on my to-do list either way
-I want to do more with the fur and shading of it. Not exactly sure what. Shading white isn’t one of the easier things anyway.
PS: yes I know those flames and the sword are different weapons entirely
PPS: I'm only now realizing I forgot the black on the tip of its tail. I did plan it out in the sketches! Things really slip my mind just like that
