The American Remnants (aka American Serpents, The United States of America, or simply America, USA, US, etc.) is a sovereign electoral democracy from the remains of its earthly origin. In the west borders the Republic of Pacifica, alongside with Lunia which borders in the North, in the south, the Confederation of Nueva Hispanica and in the East is the American Ocean, it is a power made to maintain democracy. The US is also an influential power that controls democracies it's subdivisions called "states" There are 16 states in total, with the northernmost being the State of Lunia and the southernmost being Nueva Italia.

Just like it's original nation millions of years ago, the US still holds Earth-like behavior and adaptation. It is the only Terran country to survive in the rough lands of another planet.

The Remnants still kept most of the American culture, laws, technology, politics, etc. It's sovereignty itself rare and secretive, so secretive that the CIA (yes the CIA still exists) kept the entire country a secret via a wall with a sign saying "Nothing to see here".

The Remnants' politics has changed drastically. They allied Lunia to promote unification against anti democracy movements, just like the "democratic" Pacifica.

The lands of the Remnants still feel like its in the Terran American East. This is one of the reasons why the former colony survives and adapt to the planet.

During the Qu invasion, the Governor of the colony, James Wittham and his 5 million citizens tried to hide from the Qu. The Qu still found them and genetically modified them into the Worms. Unlike other worms in the serpents' planets, they retained most of their intelligence and rebuilt their civilization, making them one of the first Snake People to evolve. During the Pacifica-Lunian war, US General, Samuel Grethert supplied the Lunians with weapons. Still, the Pacifica-Lunian war ended with a stalemate. The US promotes true democracy for every bit of true democratic nations. Even the faraway Republic of Solar Demoçraçtica seceded against the Solar Kingdom.
