Design for

Details --
The first was actually infantry designs, mainly Zeon. One for standard infantry, shock trooper and commando. Since OYW infantry seem to be influenced by it, you can use WW2 infantry pics as a base + maybe a bit of helghast influence? Shock troop...I guess they'd have either that Tigr 70 SMG or some MP40 or MP5 style SMG + lighter gear. Commando would have that WW2 paratrooper helmet, maybe a respirator, but definitely a jet pack.

============

So yes, infantry designs for the soldiers of the Principality of Zeon (from the Universal Century of Gundam *what a mouthful!*)
From left to right: Standard Infantry, Commando, Shock Trooper. And above, the Standard SMG and sidearm. Why do I suddenly find so many errors with the designs

Standard infantry wear flak jackets and are suited for longer actions.

Commandos have assault rifles and can scale a building with ease with their jump packs.

Shock infantry are just guys wearing and carrying less. Not that they're cannon fodder.

Drew all three infantry classes from I think July til October (wow that took along time) Excuse the lines, I wasn't used to my new OpenCanvas.

I'm good with the Biped type but I can't make odds or ends of the Quad,Hover,Rover(Tank treds)or Reverse joint.

Reverse joints are usually good at jumping. Tank treads have fantastic armour and incredible carry weight. Hover legs...I couldn't see any advantage about them.

I suck at 3 SL but 2 I'm holding my own VERY well I have the best armor I can get at the moment however I'm VERY SLOW max run speed 100-110mph w/o boosters. At the Arena I'm at Werehound and STUCK.

Try a different design and playstyle. I had to force myself to do this many times.
Try maybe a fast, light AC, or go tank treads and dual wield some big guns.

Also, if you can, never stop boosting. The only time you should stop boosting is when you hit red energy. And when you stop boosting, your generator should be able to regen enough boost to keep you going for a bit. So pick a high power generator.

I tried some new things as you suggested and my heavy is over 600 IBS Lighter.(I took away his Chain Gun and Grenade Launcher/Back parts.)
Sl I had some MAJOR progress now I'm stuck on a mission were I have to chase AND destroy a cargo transport.
And weapon suggestions?I'm equiping lighter parts now core arms legs you know.

I don't know if AC2 has them, but a linear rifle is good. Does stun and heat damage as well as pretty good AP damage. Otherwise, use a laser rifle (like the Karasawa)
However, using laser/plasma rifles consume energy with each shot, so if you boost all the time and use energy weapons, this should teach you to manage your energy.

If that doesn't work...I think using light reverse legs and shotguns are another option. Get close, jump to dodge their shots, and shotgun them crazy.

I'm out of Luck with Silent Line so I quit but I re-started 2 to try and find the "Secret AC parts".(I have no idea where to start looking...)
>_<
Reason for quiting 3SL? The mission where your being attacked by a MASSIVE ACHeavy type with a Pulse Rifle right arm or what looks like one,Grenade Launcher back,Plasma Cannon back, coutless missles side and A VERY powerful leftarm blade, countless MT's and a Sattelite which you CAN NOT destroy.

Check youtube or something. You'd never be able to find the goddamn parts unless you already knew they were there.

Looks real cool!
The weapons in the original Gundam did have a very familiar WWII look to them. As the art got more detailed the weapons became more modern but always kept there authentic.
The manga Gundam: the Lost War Chronicles has some good art of a Zeon assault rifle, looks cross between the MP40 and the ZSturmgewehr 44.

And in retrospect, I should not have drawn the guns so similar to the real ones

Steel-Raven In reply to twtmaster [2010-12-12 01:52:22 +0000 UTC]

It's not how they look but how they work that matters. The Auto-rifle in the BTU is described as a clone of the M1 Grande but you know it must work like the Barrett 50 cal. for it be a deadly weapon on a Mech dominated battlefield.

twtmaster In reply to Steel-Raven [2010-12-12 21:48:02 +0000 UTC]

LOL Garands that shoot .50 rounds??! Cool!
I thought infantry in Btech tabletop was just for fighting other infantry. I didn't know they could score damage on mechs so easily

Steel-Raven In reply to twtmaster [2010-12-13 00:36:53 +0000 UTC]

Infantry still go "squish" but CGL has some new infantry rules that make them more capable in a mech war like in the old Battletroops days. I haven’t played the new rules myself but the only complaint on the CGL forum so far was one person pointing out everything has improved except for the SRM squads.
I can no longer dump MGs for HS now I got to worry about zeon like shock troops waiting in the bushs to jump my mech
