Description This photo was also taken during the photographic workshop in Czech Republic. This is a mountain lion (cougar / puma) running on the fresh snow.

Gorgeous animal. Do you mind if I ask what kind of photo session it was? Was the cougar tame or something? I'm just wondering because it's incredible hard to take good pics like these on wild animals. Either way, good work ^^

It wasn't wild animal - cougars don't live here. This cougar is captive and I can say "tamed". Still unpredictable, but yes - it is easier to take a photo of this kind of animal than the real wild one.

That's what I thought... Yeah, an animal like a couger will never be a house cat but I kind of figured this one was used to humans. Most have been a interesting photo shot

Yes, it is almost impossible to take a good photo of wild animal like this one. Sometimes the only possibility is to place a photo-trap somewhere in the nature where the animal lives and hope to get at least something. But if you don't know the paths, territory and habits, it is almost a dream to get something good. Yes, you can try to attract the animal - for example with some scents, but you will never get something like this photo.


If you want to take a picture like this one, with a wild animal, you have to learn everything possible about the animal, have a lot of money to buy an expensive equipment, a lot of time, patience and luck.
