Description
Oh calypso how you entice me,
With your radiance and poise,
Like a muse sent from the heavens to soothe my weary soul,
and mend my broken heart.
Your melodies are like psalms,
Bringing all my world into focus.
Your elegant figure and sultry motions,
bring calm to beasts and men alike,
But what dwells in that purity of yours.
My dear calypso,
You bring the favor of the gods to my ruined form,
But your face is like emotionless stone,
With No speck of hope or happiness
Tell me dear calypso,
What has hurt you so,
to prevent you from feeling,
the joy you give to others,
That Sets my misery reeling,
As if witness to a goddess,
That sends all her faithful kneeling.
