I FINALLY played 1 game of DND and I played a Drow Fighter. I love him! Our DM wasn’t very goooood but it was his first time being a DM and he has played dnd far longer than I have. I had some complaints but its nothing ‘horror story’ worthy. BUT it did fuel my drive to actually play this character in a longer well done campaign one day tho.
Long story short DM makes us lvl 2 players fight a ‘Meat Dragon’ with 300hp that was made up of all the bad guys the DMPC killed (yeah, I know dmpc cringe) anyway, I roll a Nat 1 on my long bow...
DM: you rolled a NAT 1??
Me: I have a +8 to hit tho ;-;
DM: Yeh no. you completely miss the 100 ft dragon roll hit your 2ft Kobold rogue comrade instead!
Me:...oh...a Nat 20....I just did 22 damg....
Kobold Rogue: I’m DEAD!!!!!! T_T
Regardless of how cringe and bad it was it did show me what I wanted in a DND session by showing me what I didn't want. AND he said I get to lvl up 3 times! silver linings!!!!
