Description By popular demand and also since I want to do this for myself once and for all, I am writing down some background for the world that many of my artwork depict. This world has grown naturally over several years, but not in an active way so to speak. My motivations for making art can range from trying out a new method of drawing, re-imagining a scene that i have seen before or perhaps just making those perfect boobs. When I make an artwork, I make a habit of finding a place of it in my own world, sketching out the relationships and background for the particular character and situation. I have found that this habit has served me very well in my artistry. It works great as a mental exercise. I gives me both motivation and inspiration as well as adding context to my art, elevating it in the process. It has in my own opinion also created a vibrant, organic world that at times almost feels like it has a life of its own.

I am painting this background with really broad strokes, otherwise I'd end up with five doorstoppers, another five that never finishes and I'd be having to change my name to George R.R. Martin. No one wants that.

Uberis productions are proud to present: The world
The world my characters inhabit is based on present day Earth, the world you and me live in (well I do at least, can't be sure about you). This fictional Earth mirror our real-life-counterpart quite closely. The general level of technology stays the same, our familiar nations exist, major events happens roughly the same way. There are a few key differences though, as will be explained below.

A brief history of everything.
In 1989, a cabal of ambitious, talented and wealthy people banded together in a clandestine organization that would later be named RD. The main purpose of this organization was to create specialized superhumans to be used as tools or weapons for their creators. For a while, it was good. In the hidden base deep in the Ural mountains, progress continued over several years, producing results far beyond anyones wildest expectations. RD eventually decides to go public, selling their products to anyone with the means of paying for them.

Business is good, customers include both governments and wealthy private interests. It's not uncommon to see RD units fighting on both sides in armed conflicts, the prospect of commanding an unquestionably loyal supersoldier is too hard to pass up for most armies. On the private side of things, having a beautiful concubine that also doubles as an extremely efficient bodyguard is in vogue. RD reinvests much of these profits in continued R&D, making even greater discoveries in an unfathomably short timespan.

Everything is not progressing as smoothly though. Before long, dissent starts to spread in the organization regarding the best way of improving upon the human form. These varying philosophies proved too powerful to unify and in the year 1995, one organization splits into three: RD, EuT, and ZH. RD keeps looking to exploit the untapped powers of the human condition by refining the abilities and breaking the limits of our frail form. ZH sees metal in humanity's future, combining organics with robotics in a way that would result in something much greater that the sum of it's parts. EuT was taking a more naturalistic approach. By fusing the human genome with the most powerful traits of other living things, the ultimate organism could be created. Basically monstergirls.

Scotia
In the year 2000, five years after the split, now facing the competition of two equally resourceful competitors, RD doubles down on experimentation and prototyping in order to stay ahead. What suffers is the extended security and testing routine that ensures that product doesn't overwrite its programming.

Originally designed as a human supercomputer, Scotia also exhibits unintended telekinetic abilities. Scotia is also the first unit to break out of her mental imprinting, gaining free will in the process. Her first order of action is to take control of the RD organization by eliminating the other personnel and freeing the latest batch of RD product. What the follows is a bitter three-year global war between Scotias RD, the world governments and the other rival organizations. The war eventually ends in Scotias destruction along with the city of MΓΌnic. The remaining RD call a truce and seek reconciliation.

A world gone MAD
In a world where individuals move at relativistic speeds and are classified by how many days, minutes or seconds it takes for them to end the world, all conflict has to be formalized. A duel system has been put into place to allow solutions between differences that cannot be resolved by diplomatic means. Opposing parties will go to great length to ensure a mutual consensus. The reason everyone accept this system is due to the threat of mutually assured destruction. The war showed everyone what even newborn superhumans of the highest order were capable of, and their abilities have grown exponentially since then.

Slavery?
Originally conceived as a plan of vengeance upon humanity by Scotia, slavery now acts as a bargaining chip and a mean of soft power between the major players of the world. When first liberated, Scotia wanted all of humanity to feel the same pain that she and the rest of RD soldiers had felt during their time in bondage. Thus, she adapted parts of the existing RD infrastructure for slave keeping and training. She also ordered a series of incursions and raids to capture high value women in order to turn them into RD "meat", mostly to make a point. After the war, RD falls under a new management. The newly appointed leader and RD soldier Lydia first seek to free all slaves. After reasoning with her fellow officers she instead decides to keep the system around as a necessary evil. RD switches from a system of active enslavement and capture to one of long-term disposition change. RD now promotes slavery as a status symbol for both captor and captive. As RD influence spreads, so does the notion that owning a slave is something that signifies wealth beyond necessity. After all, what better way to show that you are have disposable income than to employ, feed and raise menial servants of dubious usage beyond giving you a back-rub. It also goes both ways. Slaver is now a viable career choice, and landing a position as a prestigious slave of a kind owner can provide a young woman a life of wealth and status.

The players
The world today has settled in a relatively stable state. The governments of the world has learned to handle the fact that some organizations will do as they please and that there is nothing to be done about that. The common adversary of superhuman interest has actually brought the rest of humanity together. While the world still see conflict and war from time to time, it's effects are usually less severe than i our real-life counterpart. After all, religious, economical or racial differences pales in the face of living gods. It also helps that the general level of wealth has increased due to increased regulation, trade and technology provided from these organizations, while economical inequality has gone down due to the superhumans habit of skimming from the top. Since most of the organizations already live in post-scarcity, it's more a question of how much wealth that should be distributed among the common man.

The major players has developed a system of mutual transparency and close coexistence in order to keep conflict to a minimum despite their varying philosophies. Biannual meetings are held where representatives for the influential groups meet and negotiate the direction of the world. Common topics at these meetings are redistribution or expansion of territory or assets, release and trade of POWs and POCs, how fast technology should be allowed to progress and how many percent of the human population that should be allowed to be slaves.

The invited organizations are:

The governing part of BMK, a global organization best described as "Illuminati on steroids". Fraction strives for the betterment and guidance of all humanity whilst also ensuring their own proliferations and influence.

Trindiad
Trindiad is composed of four members. Two of those members are the most powerful individuals on Earth, not a small feat considering the competition. Acting as an ultimate arbiter in conflict between major players, Trindiad must balace many powerful colliding interests.

The EDP answers to the UN and was created by the world governments to fight fire with fire by creating an anti-superhuman task force that could act as a countermeasure to the Β threat. Much like the governments it represents, EDP is incredibly weak compared to its adversaries. Still, EDP is allowed to have their representatives sit in on meetings, if only to satisfy the pride of our dethroned former superpower nations.

I'll stop here for now, maybe this helps someone with some kind of context, or not. I probably forgot to explain lots of things and I didn't bother to proofread this properly. If you want to know more, you will have to ask.

Right, so, female slaves so much outnumber male slaves that the latter might as well not exist, and if no male desired being a slave anymore, it would practically die out, yes?

Scotia initially wanted to enslave ALL women, correct? The pictures suggest there is at least some number of non-slave females. How much of the general population of women is, currently, enslaved in this world? Are mistresses a significant majority, or about half, or a vanishingly small amount?

Are natural-born women less likely to be slaves than the products of genetic tampering? The pictures also mention alien creatures. Are they actually aliens, or genetically engineered? If they are aliens, did they adopt a model of enslaving some/most of their females too? By force, or cultural appropriation of Earth customs, or did they have such systems in place already before first contact (assuming they're not just Terran transplants)?

Thank you in advance!

uberis In reply to Reifgrimm [2020-02-08 18:06:13 +0000 UTC]

The market for male slaves is at least ten times smaller than the one for females. It still persists though, and certain types of male are highly sought after by owners of specific tastes. However, since the slave-positive propaganda doesn't promote male slavery, males have to keep on being free people for the most part.

Scotia had the ambition to enslave every female, but she was destroyed before she could achieve her lofty goal. About 4% of the female population is currently enslaved. A much more modest number, though this is expected to rise slightly as time passes. For more information on slavery in the world, seeΒ

Right now, the number of enslaved natural girls vastly outnumber the enhanced ones. The alien slavegirls are currently among the most rare of enslaved people right now. Alien slaves are also in category of their own since The Treaty that governs what the major players are allowed to do explicitly forbids unauthorised space exploration or militarization. This is to prevent an arms race or land grab that wouldΒ most likely destroy the multiverse, given the powerlevel of the people involved.

While many extraterrestrial civilizations with wildy various governance forms have been identified, it's currently forbidden to attempt any sort of contact with them. Enslavement of aliens is therefore a very stealthy and clandestine affair, and great care is taken to ensure that no one else but the abductees in question notices the presence of earthlings. Natually this also requires a strict quota for the number of aliens taken, which makes them few in number.

Thank you very much for the swift answers.

Only 4%? I am quite surprised! Though perhaps I fell victim, so to speak, to the ubiquitous depictions of slavery. It made it look very natural. Exactly like to the people in your world, I wager, and as noted, likely one of the reasons the number will increasy steadily.

Those alien girls seem to take rather well to being abducted and enslaved. Is that due to the techniques used? You know, up to and uncluding outright brainwashing, judging from some pics? Or do the teams only take those with a high affinity for submitting? Is such an affinity wide-spread, if it exists at all? Is it a mix of all of those factors?

My apologies if I'm flooding you with questions, the topic is just so interesting, you see.

uberis In reply to Reifgrimm [2020-02-09 23:21:36 +0000 UTC]

It was decided that the transition to a slave-society would be as gentle as possible in order to preserve stability and to manage any unpredictabilites or societal upheaval that such a severe change would bring with it. With the world as complex as it is already, even small unknowns might have great consequences. The slavegirl quotas are actively monitored and restricted in order to prevent these unknowns. That said, currently the bottelneck lies in infrastructure and logistics and once these are expanded on, the percentage will go up.

Alien slavegirls are mostly like any other girls. While it would be ideal to only abduct submissive and willing victims, there are rarely opportunities for doing more than a cursory screening beforehand, so some resistant vicitims will inevitably get picked up. Still, since all these captives are handled by the big players, training or mind manipulation are mere trivialities for taming them should they prove too resistant. Though as a general rule, outright brainwashing or personality rewrite is only used sparingly and as a last resort since it "damages the product" and most slave owners prefer slaves with all-natural personalities.

Thank you once again. Well, not at all in the complete interest of personal fetishes, I hope this world's societies will make swift strides to overome these obstacles!

Hmm. It's a good thing they have all those restrictions in place. Or some extra-unscrupulous individuals or entities might come up with some really bad stuff. Like genetically engineering look-alikes of a certain alien species, tweaked to find slavery intoxicating and given a great libido and fertility, and letting them mix into the indigenous population. Sounds like all the tools would be in place.

Yeah it does make sense in an economy where import, automation and cheap labor have made it financially inefficient to employ slaves for menial tasks. Not to mention the fact that more and more jobs now require specialized employees that you are better off just renting when in need. You are probably not going to send a slave through school just to have it be able to do your accounting, fix your car or cut your hair.

Given the general state of the world, I have to imagine there's some considerable pressure put on 'not even as good as regular' humans, such as those with a birth defect or something.Β  I also imagine despite the more balanced state of affairs there must be quite a lot of 'normal' humans way more than a little resentful of those who hold power just because 'I have superpowers and you don't'.

An interesting world, and one I'm sure it's great to be rich or super powerful in.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

uberis In reply to Daggerhammer [2018-02-19 16:15:19 +0000 UTC]

Since the world turned slightly wealthier overall, people are generally more accepting towards those with defects. Frankly, a handicapped slave might be more prestigious than a fully functional one since it shows that her owner both has the means of caring for her and the empathic fortitude to see beyond her weakness. There will always be those jealous of not having superpowers, but this isn't any different from those wishing they were born as kings in our world. Those that actually have superpowers are usually clever enough to know that there is always someone stronger, and bullying someone weaker will lead to you answering to someone in the end.

I'm not sure about the rich and powerful being that happy, given the limitations that are in place. The most powerful beings are only allowed to operate on a fraction of their strength in their daily lives, as to not violate the Treaty. This brings with it a special set of frustrations that are currently dealt with by certain mutual health projects between the major organizations. Sure, it's probably more interesting than being a regular human, but it's not like you can do whatever you want. As for those simply being really rich, you still have to worry that RD has a high probability to choose you, your daughter or your wife as a slave just to make a point of it. Or the Organizations might just decide that you are upsetting the balance by being too wealthy and expropriate some of your assets.

Daggerhammer In reply to uberis [2018-02-20 00:16:24 +0000 UTC]

That just makes it seem even more aggravating to a person in my mindset.Β  Not only are you poor, even if you DO get wealthy through hard work and blood, sweat, and tears, you have a triple whammy: you're probably not even close to the born wealthy (as normal), if you DO make it someone else can just say 'Oh hey, a large part of your fortune is now ours for balance purposes AND that hot wife of yours and your daughter are now someone else's property', AND if you're not born superhuman the odds are at best you'll always be second rate for the simple fact you weren't born with superpowers, though arguably you could get stuck full of cyberbits if you have the right connections and all I suppose.

As someone born with both physical disadvantages and an extremely predatory mentality, it was hard enough to not do something insane just from being poor in the real world.Β  I'm not saying the bulk of people wouldn't put their heads down and get on with living, but people like me must be set to go friggin' ballistic in a world like that.

It's true that the people that have had most trouble adapting to the current state of things are those driven by lust for power and material wealth. Most other people accept the current state of affairs as simply another one of the other infinite things in their lives that's out of their control, and simply play the hand that they are dealt. Then again, unless you are part of the 1% you are very unlikely to be targeted anyways.

As for cybernetics, ZH recruits members based on merit and suitability alone. While normal prosthetics are readily available to the general public, military grade equipment are reserved solely for those worthy.

Slaves have their own bill of rights. These laws govern general treatment as well as rules about selling and monitoring, but in short you could say that "no permanent damage" is the gist of it. Owners can be dealt severe penalties for not abiding by these rules. Body modifications are allowed, but they must first be cleared with an RD official and may in certain cases require a special license for the owner.

Ah, I see. That makes the bit about enslavement to a kind master being a good opportunity for advancement make a lot more sense.

Can only women become slaves? Or perhaps first I should ask, do men even exist in this world? Because I've yet to see any.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

uberis In reply to KindlyCruel [2018-02-20 18:41:04 +0000 UTC]

Well the meta reason for no male presence is that I really don't enjoy drawing or thinking about them as much as I do girls. Males do technically exist in my world, they just aren't shown. The in-universe justification for supehuman women is that the engineers that designed them were straight men that liked designing subservient women. As for extraordinary humans being female, It's due to the extended genome that comes with the XX-chromosome.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

KindlyCruel In reply to uberis [2018-02-20 19:38:39 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I understand. The in-universe justification seems a bit flimsy, but it's enough for an excuse

So to return to my previous question, is it only women who can be enslaved?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

uberis In reply to KindlyCruel [2018-02-20 22:57:30 +0000 UTC]

Men technically can be slaves too, but noone really bothers with it. Scotias original idea was to enslave all the women in the world as vengeance for the bondage suffersed by her and her RD sisters. This notion didn't completely die even after the war, a testament of her undying will. Generally, female slaves outnumber male ones at least fifty to one.
