They're adorable, I'd get a cat, except my sister's bird would be in danger, and my dog would NEVER forgive me (he'd consider it cheating, he looks so sad when I pat other animals)

wow, there were a lot of spelling mistakes in my last comment...

anyways, if the bird has a cage, it would be fine... but the dog... jealous dogs are never a good thing to have around cats...
*epic war commences*

Mum and my sister are very good at screaming/over-dramatising things like this though...having a cat one day would make them go all "NO! YOU CAN'T BE HAVING A CAT HERE, WHAT ABOUT THE BIRD?!", if the cat so much as walks past the cage "!@#$@#%@#$^@#%^@#$^@#$*string of cursewords here*!@#!@#!@#!@#!@#!@#%^^&%&*&^ NO MOAR KITTEHS FOR YOU !@#!@#%^^&^&*^&*^&*".
No fair...nobody asked me if I wanted a pet when I was her age.
I wouldn't have, because it wouldn't be fair on the dog, but now I can't get a cat until I leave home (years away!)

I'll just have to settle with patting other people's cats, and that one which lives in the street (it wanders about)

one time i sort of adopted a cat that showed up at my house. dad's allergic, so it wasn't allowed inside, but i kept it in the dog house over winter, since it appeared in like, November. he was officially my first pet that was MINE, not a family pet... but i gave him to my kindergarten teacher because she has a sheep farm, and i figured he'd be happier there than in a dog house in the middle of town.

i wasn't allowed a dog until i was 8. and we only got her because she was our neighbors', and they were moving to China to teach English.
all of our pets are 'second-hand'...

Ultima-Squirrel In reply to ubersquish39 [2010-10-23 22:07:39 +0000 UTC]

Well, they might be second hand, but just think how much you've made their lives better! They might not have been yours first, but if they didn't have a home, think of how sad that would be...
You've saved them from a potentially tragic fate! If they knew what could have happened, I'm sure they'd be grateful.

What was the cat named? It's a nice story

i called the cat Tigger. i was a little kid. i didn't think too hard about it. actually, i think it was supposed to be Tiger at first, but i misspelled it and though it was better that way. he looked a little like Zephyr... i think i have a picture of him... here: [link]
Tigger was more brown though.

i wasn't complaining that they were second hand... second hand stuff's the best! (most of the time... with obvious exceptions like toothbrushes and underpants )
one thing that bothers me when i get a brand new CD is that there's no scuffs, fingerprints, or scratches of anything on the case, so i'm afraid to touch it... after it gets 'broken-in', so to speak, then i feel more comfortable putting it on & taking it off the shelf...
*a little OCD, i know... *
i keep the CDs in perfect condition though. there's nothing that bothers me more than people who'll take CDs or games out of the machine and just leave them on the floor, or put them in a giant pile next to the CD player/computer/xbox/whatever. it wrecks the discs... *pet peeve...!!*

Oh...I hate the disc thing too. And with books, how if you've just eaten something, and touch the page, it leaves a mark...or the corners get damaged when carrying it around in your bag.
They killed my copy of The Sims 1! The last disc (I had that "complete collection" box with all the expansions) got scracthed when I lent it to a friend...no more magic stuff.
And Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, one of my favourite games when I was a kid...who SNAPS a disc?! Why?!

Such a nice cat!

anyone else who read that comment would be like "whoa. that guy's random."

i hate it when people dog-ear books to keep their page, too. i mean, just remember the page number or, hey, how about... i dunno... USING A BOOKMARK

I use a bookmark, unless I'm doing something wierd like stopping every 3 chapters/every 50 pages. I'd forget otherwise...
I feel sad when one of my favourite books gets damaged...my copy of Hamlet has some orange paint on it (I read it because people said "The lion king was kind of based on it"...I guess? I didn't see much connection)

It's good! Unlike other Shakespeares, Hamlet goes insane EARLY. This makes it excellent, because rather than sitting around, he runs someone through with a sword, completely loses interest in his girlfriend (which made me laugh, because a few pages ago, she was like "Hamlet's stalkin' me". No he wasn't. He was just looking for someone to rant at).

But at the end, I think Shakespeare went a little overboard with killing...I know he liked to do that. But really...

'ultima-squirrel's stalkin me'
no he isn't. he's just lookin for someone to rant at

jk. i love talking to you! more than i like talking to some of my family members, actually.

well, i'm in English Lit next semester (only a few more weeks!! where did the time go!?) so we may end up taking Hamlet... not sure, actually...

Hahaha! I love talking to you as well, it's my favourite part of the day, and dA. Well, I love talking to all my friends, but...our conversations are a little more awesome. Tico badges, ninja pigeons, the legacy of duck photographer, FANGIRLIN' IT UP FOR FRUITS BASKET!!!

Hamlet is incredibly awesome. Well, once you work out what everyone is talking about. "To be or not to be" actually made me depressed...it was about how pointless life is.

can't say there's anyone quite like you over here... at least, not that i've met yet. nobody wrote a story for my pigeon picture, nobody else cares about duck photographer as much as you do, and nobody (other than uberkid and the-guy-who-looks-like-Hatori, who from now on will be called Kirby, because that is his name) else cares about Tico Badges!

i swear, you're just a carbon-copy of me (or vice-versa, seeing as you're older) living in a different country...

i think we're taking Macbeth next semester... i saw it on another English teacher's desk, and usually all the teachers teach the same books...

Macbeth is good, I personally prefer Hamlet, but you might enjoy laughing at what ends up happening. THE ODDS!
"What did Macbeth do when he heard *spoilers*?" (in other words, when he knows he's just a bit screwed)
'He s*** himself.'
Full marks.

/answers least important part first

There's no-one like you here either, that I know of. We didn't even HAVE Tico Badges until I got one from you, in amazement.
And you appreciate the awesomeness of puns, and random stories about ninja pigeons!

Duck Photographer, even though I have never met him, is a form of hero/idol for me. From what I've heard about him, mixed in with my own imagination, has left me with a figure who does a job some might consider "stupid" or "a waste of time", but he enjoys it! Not to mention, he took the time to care for you when you lost your iPod...he's just amazing.
