Since my skill has been improving, I practiced drawing the hero of kvatch and the emperor’s son as a reference. Nethephys ended up rocking some 90’s cool mom haircut or something.The problem I realize with her is that I don’t think she has a real reason for wanting to stay with the Blades and help out once she’s recovered from her injuries gained at Kvatch. I mean, sure, Martin quickly earns her respect and even romantic interest, but I don’t think wanting some emperor D is a good enough reason😆. She’s not a simp. I have also retconned the cannon plot to make Mankar Camoran a certain someone from her past, but she does not desire revenge as she kind of agreed with what he did. And she’s not going to help out because it’s just “the right thing to do.” That’s what Mary Sues do. A hero should always have a personal motive to do something rather than leave it to others or ignore it. Martin, for example, does it not only because the responsibility is thrust upon him by the pressuring And expectant blades, but also because he feels responsible for all the deaths of loved ones caused by the daedra that he has witnessed.

I really love the way you drew these two! I think your portrayal of Martin might actually be my most tě favorite! And I really like like what you did with Nethepys as HoK too, I have seen way too many of them doing what they're doing purely because it's right or because they like Martin or whatever. After all the HoK isn't a special chosen one (for all we know Uriel might have just bluffed or something, or the vision was so vague anyone else from say the blades could fit in) and most of the time there are way more capable and experienced people around to do the tasks instead, and the whole story could play out without them. I would write about my HoK but I fear that it would get way too long, so maybe in a reply if you would want to read that 😂. On the topic of Martin's desing, what do you think of the way he looks on the Legends card? Since that's apparently supposed to be official or something. Anyway great piece as always, it's so amazing seeing an artist improve and grow over time.

Well to be entirely honest the first time I saw it I thought Mart looked like a long lost cousin of prince Charming from Shrek or something. And I don't mean that in a good way. Somene mentioned he looks like Hillary Clinton and yeah 😂. His posture is strange, his hair color is too light, his skin too pale, his expression strange....long story short I don't like it. I was honestly hoping that the whole avatar of akatosh thing was going to be integrated into the card somehow. Your idea about saving people of Kvatch sounds really good too. I had completely forgot about that beautiful art piece btw, thank you for reminding me of it's existance!
