The Sun Crusher, one of the most ridiculous devices ever created by any state including the Old Sith empires. However, issues with the design that even Darth Vader could not handle and so it was left in the Maw.

Carved out of a block of Quantum-crystalline, the ship was only fighter sized, had laser cannons, and powerful resonance torpedoes that would cause suns to go supernova. The only issue was that the armor itself interfered with electrical devices. Taking a risk, Rey and a strike team managed to board the Eclipse II, steal some wires and panels from the ship and escape as the AI tried to stop them with some turbolasers and droids. The team escaped with heavy losses but scientists from the former maw Installation synthesized materials from the recovered panels and wires. Then put it into the design, pilot Poe Daemeron and Rey had to pilot the device just to have it work.

Once a suitable amount of control was established, the New Republic and Galactic Remnant established themselves at the system of Korriban. As expected Eclipse II followed with the AI still smarting over its infiltration to the point it brought all of its World Devestators and most of the fleets, to its surprise and horror, the Sun Crusher emerged and rushed it. Despite a barrage of turbolasers, proton missiles and striking the starfighter sized ship with the superlaser, the Sun Crusher rushed the ship with no injury. The superweapon rushed through the massive ship, despite damage to itself, the Eclipse came out worse with a massive hole near its hyperdrive. Then Poe Daemeron fire a dozen resonance torpedoes into the sun.

Supercharged by the energy released, the sun of Korriban expanded consuming the world its light had allowed life to develop on, World Devestators, Eclipse II and with it the Rax AI, the robotic fleet, the Sun Crusher and any unlucky ship unable to hyperspace away.

Originally it seemed Rey and Poe were consumed as well before they emerged unhurt in an escape pod. The Sun Crushers designers had been well aware of the risks and had instituted an escape pod system that had been the only device to work during the original tests.

Now the Galactic Remnant and Coalition could rebuild, free of the specter of the Empires final revenge.

Despite this, both sides would agree to build a maximum of 25,000 star destroyer vessels coated in Quantum-crystalline armor as a safeguard and develop new weapons to break it.

For the first time in millennia, technology had begun to change.
