Was the choice of clothing colour deliberate by the way? Light (the young, innocent shapeshifter) and dark (the centuries-old vampire)

You've been spending a lot of time lately portraying Elijah when he was young and - a strange word to use about a vampire, I know - vulnerable. I say "vulnerable" because when I read the comic book, I don't see someone who was in control of his own life. Even as a vampire, he was the man that his father's actions and choices had made him, not the man he had chosen to be himself.
This Elijah isn't physically older, but he somehow *looks* older. He seems powerful, self-assured, and in control. And seductive, in the Henry Kissinger sense that power is an aphrodisiac. Alessio looks innocent and vulnerable here, but Elijah looks like someone who has seen it all, done it all, and learned painful lessons from most of it. He thought when he became a vampire that his new power would fill the void left in his soul by Keith's murder. In the comic book, you can tell from his grieving expression that it hasn't. In this picture, it looks as if, some time in the centuries since he was turned, it has - at least partially.
Aside from character analysis, I should add that it's a really beautiful composition
Stuttgart, huh? Do you have an opinion on Stuttgart 21? (If not, why not, everyone else does )
