Description „I can’t believe it!“, the red haired man said.
“I told you. A painted elf. And what a looker.”, his friend with the bald head smiled.
“Where did you get him?!”
“He walked right into the tavern! Showing off like that filthy pointy eared bunch would have any right to do so!” He spit in front of his prisoner. “Had two elf lovers with him but I told them he had left early and quickly and one of those morons actually concluded elf boy would have stolen their property.”
“What property, Cal?”, the red haired asked.
“The coins I stole from their room while those idiots were sleeping.” Cal laughed out loud. “Obviously they didn’t think too highly of pointy ears here, did they, my friend?”
The elf just glared at him.
“His eyes are creeping me out. What’s wrong with him?”
“Don’t be such an idiot, Valen! He just plays hard to get. Will lose that attitude once he feels the kiss of the slaver’s whip. As shame, really. I hesitate to sell this beauty at all but I haven’t brought anything in for Kerleg in months and if I’m not careful he’ll send the wolves to my doorstep.”
“Wolves?”, Valen looked confused.
“Sure you never had a brain in there?! Debt collectors, you moron!”
“Been gambling again? I told you that Kerleg cheats.”
“Yes, mother, I know. And now shut up. This fellow here will solve all my problems.”, Cal grinned viciously. “But maybe we should try him out first. See if he is capable to perform. You surely know how to handle a man, don’t you, elf boy?”
“Touch me and you will die…”
“Oh look, it can talk!” Cal laughed hysterically but Valen wasn’t so sure. Something about that elf’s eyes gave him the shivers. Maybe they were making a big mistake.

~~~
Inspired by the poor elves in Dragon Age and Fenris from Dragon Age 2… only a little, he is a bit too tough for Ilay (the elf… another re-design) *lol* Again something I haven’t talked with about but since we didn’t have the chance my ideas just had to get out somehow *g*
Man, those gay relationships (male x male, I didn’t have any lesbian ones… yet *g*) in Dragon Age 2 sure are angsty and dark. I love both *lol*
Tell me what you think
Pity... you'd have a bigger market in English and your English is very good.
I looked into the elf's eyes and the word "fanatic" came into my mind instantly. The expression on his face makes me think of someone who has been to a terrorist training camp - someone who has had all the compassion and empathy deliberately trained out of them, someone who has been conditioned to kill. Or maybe a psychopath or a sociopath, a person who had no ability to sympathise with anyone else's suffering. I wondered if "rabid" would be a good word for him, but "rabid" suggests someone who has no self-control. There is a lot of hate in the elf's expression, but it's a cold, calculating hatred, a *controlled* hatred.
This image reminds me, a little bit, of "First bite is the deepest". In both that picture and this one, you have taken creatures which you usually show as alluring and beautiful - vampires and elves - and portray them as dirty and degraded. There's even maybe a little bit of similarity between the characters - the elf's expression could also be that of a drug addict who will do *anything* to get his fix, even murder, because lives just don't matter to him in comparison to his own desires.
The way you have lit the image is superb. There's so much detail in the way the candle light is reflecting off both the characters' skins and that amazing background texture. Normally when you use candlelight or firelight, you create an effect of gothic beauty (like Phantom of the Opera), or barbaric splendour (the Desert King). Just as with the elf, though, here you take a lighting which is usually beautiful and instead use it for a setting with is filthy and gruesome and horrific (that skull and ribcage behind him is just... urgh
It's a beautiful piece, but it doesn't portray beauty, if you see what I mean. It's a visually stunning representation of hatred surrounded by squalor.
Thank you so much, it took me ages to set up this light So glad you like it and it really conveys the mood I wanted to created.
Ilay is more or less a terrorist, even if he is not really aware. The elves in this world either live in alienages in the cities or cut off from the rest of the world in their city in the mountains. Ilay grew up in the mountains and he thinks that it is wrong to separate from the human world. He ventured out to find a way to at least restore a bit of the power the elves once possessed before the war with the humans destroyed their heritage. In ancient ruins he stumbles upon a relic with a spirit bound inside and releases it, getting possessed by it. Afraid of the consequences he might have to face at home he flees and wanders the human lands, the anger inside of him only getting stronger with each day he sees how badly the few of his people living among the humans are treated. So I guess you could call him a bit of a terrorist since in his most angry moments he thinks that humanity should be crushed under the elfs' heel. ^^*
Very evocative. I love the textures, and the elf's pose is very emotional, very filled with resentment and hidden power. No wonder the elf's eyes are creeping the guys out!
I'm not usually a fan of 3D art, but this is perfect. The eyes are fantastic and you've done a great job with the textures.
Well done!!
You know, comments like this are just awesome. I know that 3D isn't so well regarded and it makes me happy if I manage to make someone enjoy one of my works who is normally not into rendering stuff. Thank you!
Well, it's mostly the elf's glare that makes that amazing.
I saw a piece yesterday that was done perfectly in 3D. It was like a photo, except the eyes were gazing off somewhere, and the expression was poor. It ruined the whole thing.
This is just great though. He looks a little frightened, but definitely angry.
Well done.
